Looking for someone to hang up a flat screen and connect it all up (Gatineau)
Does anyone know of someone in Gatineau that can install a flat screen TV on the wall and hook up all the wires that go with the HD Receiver, Surround System, DVD Player, etc for a few bucks. My girfriend is looking for someone to do this for a half decent fee.

How soon do you need it set up Craig? I could do it, but I'm going to be pretty busy the next week or two with packing for my move.

Craig, It is really pretty simple. All you need is a stud finder and a hanging bracket from Costco.

forget costco, go to www.monoprice.com and you'll get everything you need at AWESOME prices. I buy all my cables there. Should you need help, shoot me a PM but its really quite simple. One word of advice, use lagbolts as they will hold forever. I did and my TV is perfect years after being mounted. Cheers,

Thanks for the info. Monoprice is great for prices.
Hey Geoff, she moves the first week of September to the new house. The TV arrives on September 3, so I would like to get it installed shortly there after. I guess you are moving the around the same time?
I don't think I am too concerned about hanging the TV so much, as connecting all the cables to everything.

The cables are simple.
1) Cable from outside to your digital box or dish
2) then from box/dish to TV
3) Audio from box/dish to TV or receiver
4) DVD to TV
5) DVD audio to TV or receiver
etc....
Very simple. Like I said no worries shoot me a PM for assistance. Cheers,Lots of yoga pants these days, not enough Yoga!

Weazl... I may shoot you a PM. I set mine up about a year ago and I know its not right and I never got the home theater working... got so frustrated I gave it to my son for his TV. When I lose power, I have to set the TV up all over again .... I often revert to 480 from the 1080 when the cable box goes out.

Weazl,
Are the quality of the items good from monoprice? I guess i will need some HDMi cables for the Plasma HD TV? I was at the store the other day and they ranged from $20 to $350.00.
Your thoughts

Yes. I have been using their cables for years and I have two HDTV's in my house. My neighbour and friends are all on to them now too as I saved them all money. delivery time is 7-10 days from California. My last order was for over 400.00$ at here, cost me 72$ at Monoprice. I will vouch for them anyday.
Further to this, make sure you have ALL the cables you need. HDMI will do audio and video but make sure the cmponent being used supports it. Also, if your receiver for your surround sound if your using one supports video switching, use that. Any questions, shoot me a PM or email. Cheers,Lots of yoga pants these days, not enough Yoga!

Monoprice is a great source for cable. You can also get HDMI cable at factorydirect.ca on Merivale Rd beside LeBarons. $10 for a 6 ft cable, don't know about the quality but it should be fine.

I have made purchases from factorydirect and products are not new and our suspect. For 10.00$ if you need the cable now go for it, but I do highly recommend monoprice. Cheers,

Thanks, I was able to do the Installation myself, took me a little while, wanted to make sure it was right, didn't want to hang it, and have it fall down later...
Got the cables, everything is great. thanks for all your help and ideas.
