Stonebridge Prices
I guess this was inevitable with EC going to CL, but I think they may have pushed themselves a bit far with their new pricing: http://www.stonebridgegc.com/golf2a.html
$75 prime time...be interesting to see what kind of traffic they see this year.
Talk amongst yourselves.....

I thought their prime time rate last year was $70, so $5 won't deter too many. I may be mistaken though.

Yep, it will be interesting to see what effect the new pricing has on traffic. I'm not sure I'd attribute this to EC going Clublink though.
What's worse for me is that they have discontinued the 48 green fee booklet. Last year the 48-rounder worked out to ~$55 at prime time, which was a very good deal.
With the new pricing and the 24-pass book it works out the $67.50 a round which is a pretty hefty increase. Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!

ROTFLMAO...as you started typing it was the pensive triangle, the second you completed the post I picture you walking away from your computer rubbing your hands and laughing like a puppet master while saying out loud to no one in particular "dance you forum posters, dance to my commands..."
LMAO. Best post i have seen in a long time.

traffic?
it will be packed tight as always. price is an issue only in the absence of value.
conditions ,pace of play, location, facilities....
still good bang for the golf $$ at least on an occasional basis

Just curious, what are the restrictions on Corporate Golf in terms of number of rounds/times?
The website doesn't give any specifics that I could find. Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!

There was a post about restrictions on their new forum, but they listed Marshes restriction twice. I'm going to guess that its the one with the after 12:00 on weekend restriction. Nothing regarding weekdays.

I wonder what they will do to their price when they close down the driving range? It's a 1st class practice facility....it's a shame that a top notch course like that would close their range...not sure when it's scheduled to close but the City of Ottawa zoning proposal I received in the mail includes 92 homes on the land that is currently the driving range.....don't think CL would be interested in buying a course that doesn't have a range.

CL owns Hautes Plaines which also does not have a driving range.
Let's keep this thread to discussions on the prices at Stonebridge and not expand into CL-Stonebridge rumours please. It could be that the purpose of your life is only to serve as a warning to others.

I think it will be hard for them to maintain premium pricing without a driving range.

I found that the couples rate of just under 3,000.00 mon.to frid. rate is pretyy good compared to some other clubs and even the 7 day deal is very good for this quality course .They dont have an initiation fee or bar bill either i think, wich is nice. Some competition in this market is good for eveyone.

If you think it's bad now, wait until all of the houses are built and sold.
I've always maintained that things would be relatively golfer friendly at SB until all the lots were sold because a public golf course has pretty good marketing appeal. Once all the houses are sold........Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!

Sb
I have bought a 48 pack the last 4 years, but @ $75.00, I guess I won't be playing too much at SB this year.
The model that SB and Monarch are using for SB is isimilar to what they did at Millcroft in Oakville a few years ago. (http://www.millcroftgolfclub.com/) and yes, once the houses were completed, the quality did change.

A $5.00 increase I can live with but I really hope there won't be downturn in quality. I played SB quite a bit and really enjoy the course. I thought it was in pristine condition and VERY well managed - rarely did we face long wait times at the tee box, rarely if ever.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

I think you mean West side. The scorecard on the new website shows #1 as a par 4, which is west #1. It also makes more sense this way since #9 East finishes at the clubhouse.
Too bad about the starters/marshalls.Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!
