Ideas for Fun day...

Me and Langille5 are doing the activities for the forum fun day and we were looking for suggestions from the participants...

so far we have these in the works....

1. Long drive

2. Closets to the pin (maybe 2 or 3 holes depending on the # of prizes)

3. Net Skins game

4. Net best random 4some

5. Putting contest (each person pays $1 or $2 and has 3 shots to hole it out. prizes will be distibuited in $$ 60% winner, 30% second, 10% third)

Added:

6. Best Dressed

7. Most honest golfer

any other ideas would be much appreciated

I'd suggest that there be a nominal fee associated with participating in any event for which there is a prize (like $1) and that we donate all of the funds collected to a local charity.

Did you mean "gross"? Net would imply that handicaps are involved which would be a pain to manage.

You can also have a raffle during dinner for a prize pack or a 50/50 draw (with 50% of the money collected going to charity and 50% as a cash prize.

Tricky to do handicapped skins without validated handicaps.

Each 4some play 'Animals' .. $1 per animal..if people haven't heard of them its as follows:

Snake - last person to 3 putt
Camel - last person to put a Ball in bunker
Bear - last Ball lost in woods
Alligator - last Ball in water

if you have an animal at the end of the round you owe the other 3 guys $1.

Draw a line on the fairway or lay down a long piece of rope and whoever is closest to the line/rope wins.

This one can be fun, but be sure there is clear and obvious signage or people don't understand what it is.

You can also use 'hidden' hole scores. You select 3 holes on the front and 3 ont the back (no one know what they are) what ever a person gets on that hole, you reverse it. E.G. if you got a bogie, then it is a birdie, if you got a birdie, it is a bogey.

Dan the shortest par 4 is the 14th, you have a low landing zone or you can drive over the trees for the green. The hole is 274 yards. But they have a few that are low 300's

The idea here is to acurately place your drive for your approach shot---my personal choice would be #4 as you can see everything from the tee; actually 17 would not be bad either

Yup they would be good holes for it. But I like the Dunk tank idea better LOL
