OVGA, QGA & Range Finders
Anybody know if the OVGA and QGA will allow range finders in tournaments like the GAO does?

They didn't allow them last year and I doubt that they'll allow them this year either. The reason I got is that it will slow play down too much. Some people will definitely measure every thing they can and it will slow play down but I've been using one for a few years now and I don't think I've slowed anyone down. I hope none of the guys I play with disagree with me. I have had someone pace off from the 150 marker and by the time he got back I had measured the distance and was waiting for him to get back so I could hit. Even with these devices you have to make the shots and that's the tough part.

If anything they speed up play. This is an outdated rule that is no longer in vouge and should be changed.
Life dinnae come wit gimmies so yuv got nae chance o' gitt'n any from me.

speed up for sure!
I've never played so quick in my life since I've had my bushnell. I'm really picky with my yardages too.

There is no way that using a range finder will slow down play, pacing off yardage from a 150 marker will. Just be ready to hit when it's your turn and don't take forever lining up your putts just cause you have a quarter bet on the line. Also keep an eye on where your ball lands, look for a bush or different colored tree to mark the spot where your ball came down at, that will speed up play, not being unable to use a range finder.
