When we got notice in the mail that they were changing to 410 digital, they did say that we would have to pay. I guess they just gave us a time period to get used to it, then make us pay

Yes, I have two tvs upstairs on digital so I checked downstairs and find that I can still get it on channel 71 analogue.

Isn't TGC taking over the PGA broadcasting next year? A lot of people who only watch golf once in a while will not pay for The Golf Channel. I doubt I will until they make the change to carying the PGA.

I would have thought that, that is why we are going to have to pay. The cost of the ability to cover these events will be rather large. They are saying 2007 for the PGA coverage.

They waste all this time promoting "golf for the masses" and all this other BS, and then they go move the Tour to "cable" and make us pay to watch. It pisses me off to no end.

Can you imagine if they put the NFL, MLB or NHL exclusively on pay channels, you can bet there'd be hell to pay.

Still on 71 in the east--I called amonth ago and was told to read the back of my bill--apparently Rogers can do what ever they want--even if I lose annalogue we will definitly switch to expess-view or sympatico--I am so sick of just hearing the name--ROGERS

For about $40/month, you can get basic digital cable. This includes one theme pack. You have sports, which includes the Golf Channel.

At least, that is how I read their site.

I would NOT pay for the golf channel as it is now. THey barely have any programming. Last night I tuned into the Big break all star challengte with people from the show scrubs it was dumb. None of them could even golf.

Hmmm... I pay about $130 a month and have just about everything... and my wife who's at home right now says that I no longer get the golf channel either. Has anyone called to see what's going on and what new package, etc. and cost might be?

The reality is they are all lousy, lousy service, lousy equipment. I still think Rogers is the best of the worst, and Sympatico is just off the scale of being terrible, from a technicians point of view at least. They are claim to offer choice, but it really is more like you have the choice to pay X for next to nothing or Y for more than is should cost for what we had included before, or even Z where you just keep paying and paying, often for things you will never use. They are conveniently herding us like cattle into what they want, not what we want.

Did you know that in Sweded for example, they have 10 to 100Mb service (compared to our measly 3-6 Mb) for a fraction of the cost we are paying. Yes people, scream at your provider to get more for less on a continual basis, or complacency will keep dipping into your wallet.

I actually pay $30 for basic Digital Cable.

Golf Channel works in analogue on Channel 71.

According to the Rogers website, you have to order the Sports theme pack for $10!!!

It's still on channel 71 analogue though, but for how long?
