Nice, their greens used to be some of the best many decades ago and great to hear they are back.

Marco, I don’t know what you’re on, but I’m at Champlain right now. Fairways are full of dirt Philly and dead grass not in good shape at all. The greens are fine. Teebox is terrible anyways this course is not back.

The greens need cutting and grooming, not good Marcos

I play Champlain regularly... the improvements over the last few years is outstanding... while not yet perfect they have made great strides.
Grooming in the middle of the week is usually just getting started for the weekends...
Green speeds there have been on the quicker side most of this year... unlike some others.

The conditions are not an Eagle Creek... or Smugglers...
But day and night better than they were 5 years ago...
I'm giving credit for the effort there...

Ha ha Chief, I am sure the greens would have been better had they cut them yesterday Marcos. They were true but slow. The fact remains the fairways and tee boxes were atrocious Look at the picture, of the tee box, there is barely a spot to put the ball down. There were giant oatches of dead grass on almost every fairway and tee boxes were really beat except for the forward tees. I like that course and the layout, very forgiving but the lack of maintenance is apparent and I guess I am a golf snob expecting decent conditions for the $40 green fee and not having to use inter golf rules to find a decent lie in the fariway. i don't dispute that there has been improvement but there is still a huge moutain to climb

My comment was a direct response to what Marcos had written but the pictures I posted will justify my words. I mean I drive down the middle of the fairway and my ball is in the middle of mud and dead grass??? Im talking many many large areas like the ones I showed in the pctures. I also landed in a giant patch of weeds in the middle of the fairway at the 150 marke on one hole, just not right. I am not expecting anythiing close to the courses you mentioned, lets comare apples to apples, there is lack of maintnenace period no matter how much its improved. Not worth a $40 greene fee so they wont get any more of my money thats for sure but as long as people go and pay and say nothing it will not get better so let the market dictate the outcome.
You want cheap golf and play winter conditions in August then this is the course for that type of player. i would gladly pay $20 more and play Pineview or Metcalfe which are middle of the road courses.Lefty Lucas

$40 to $50 is pretty much the norm for many public\semi private courses. In this price range there are many fine courses with much much better conditions than Champlain (just using Champlain as an example since there are pictures posted above). Renfrew, Perth, Upper Canada, Greensmere, Smiths Falls, Whitetail, Lombard Glen and Dragonfly are just a few examples of courses that are in fantastic shape within that price range. Granted, there is some extra driving involved with some of these courses, but I have no issues driving the extra mile to have top notch conditions for relatively the comparable green fee.

Played eQuinelle today... slower greens than Champlain...
Just goes to expectations...
Prices since COVID (as I've mentioned on occasion) in my opinion is gouging...

That makes sense Marcos, I did notice the womens tees looked good. The pictures of the fairway were common in every fairway, just a lack of caring, would not take much to re-seed those areas.

Would you if you were a tenant?
Champlain is a Muni with an exceptional location.
I would say that it’s in the same ball park as Pineview.
Although not perfect there have been some improvements.
The traps have sand and the greens are good except for the top tier on number 2. That being said I’ll play there any day over Cartier, Vieux Moulins and Gatineau. Also check the rates at Gatineau😳 https://www.gatineaugolf.com/rates.html
