Colby wins 1up after 19 holes.
Colby had me dormie after 15 3up with 3 to play. I got a stroke on 16 and won the hole after we each bogeyed. Managed a par on 17 to Colby's three putt bogey to put the match 1up through 17. After a fantastic pitch tight for a tap in birdie on eighteen the match was all square. First extra hole with two great drives in the fairway I proceeded to duff my second and the match was all but over. I had a great time. The course and staff were top notch. Colby is a very gracious host. Thanks for the match, look forward to getting out with you again. Best of luck in your next match."Get your smile on!"

I won 5 up against Sakuraba. The course was great at the Outaouais, greens were swift and true. Andrew was great company and we had a great time. The match was a lot closer than the final score. We even managed to squeeze in a couple of extra holes after the match for good measure.

I think its called 5 up, it was dormie 4 and I think luc actually won the hole as I was trying to ram my birdie in from 25 feet, and only took a casual swipe at the par, as luc was about 10 feet for net birdie.
1st time at outaouais, I had a great time, great company, great course & good luck luc!Last edited by Sakuraba; 07-11-2007 at 02:22 PM. Reason: he was 10 feet for net birdie

Andrew, you made some great shots, you just got off to a bad start. I see you are definitely a player, no reason to hang your head. Two of those sand shots were just fantastic and your chips were on the money

in match play, a player is dormie when leading a match by as many holes as there are left (ie 4 up with 4 holes to play). The player who is down must win every hole to save the match and force its continuation past the last regular hole (if a winner must be determined) or halve the match (in a team competition such as the Ryder Cup).

I haven't looked at this thread for a while. I take it that the challenge matches and the related software are a go. Is that so?

LBH vs bobblehead: Ruling may be required
So bobblehead and myself played this evening our OG Match Play (round 2) at Irish Hills.
To make a long story short, bobblehead is 1 up after 16. On the green of 17, he marks his ball and proceeds to clean it by rubbing the ball on the green. Rules of golf are clear: one cannot test the surface of the putting green (rule 16.1d).
<<
During the play of a hole, a player must not test the surface of the putting green by rolling a ball or roughening or scraping the surface.
>>
So I call him on it, explain to him that the penalty in match play for doing so is "loss of hole".
Therefore the match is back to all square.
At this point he informs me that he "has done it all game long". I did not notice him doing it, therefore did not call a penalty of those other holes. He also said he did it all the time in his previous match againt mbarroso.
Anyway, he wins the 18th hole.
Question is: Does bobblehead win 1up? If not, what happens to the other holes where he tested the surface of the putting green by rubbing the ball on the green to clean it?
Not sure where to go with this.
Help!
Thanks
LBH
P.S.: Thanks for the match Terry. Whatever the outcome is, it was a pleasure to play with you and would love to do so again.

LobWedge posted this in the Rulings forum
See Decision 16-1d/5.
16-1d/5 Rubbing Ball on Putting Green for Cleaning Purposes
Q. May a player clean his ball by rubbing it on the putting green?
A. Yes, provided the act is not for the purpose of testing the surface of the putting green. It is recommended that a ball be cleaned in other ways to eliminate any question as to the player’s intentions.
