Shot of a lifetime!

Playing Champlain #5 from the whites (short par 5 beside the range), hit an OK drive in the fairway so I'm about 225-230 out. Hit a low 3-wood in front of the green that bounces up and onto the green. I figured I had a decent chance to putt for an eagle but when I got to the green I couldn't find my ball!:biting:

I couldn't believe it. I even looked in the ditch on the other side of the cart path behind the green - but that's at least 20 yards behind the green. I was starting to get a little p***ed off when one of my playing partners yells "Hey - there's a ball in the hole". Sure enough it was mine - for a double eagle!

dude, that is friggin amazing. 99% of us will never do that, ever!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great shot. Too bad that you did not see it go in but the pleasant surprise of finding the ball in the hole makes up for it.

In 50 years of golf, I have had only one double eagle. It's a rare feat indeed.

The odds are I have been told, 6 million to 1.....get a lottery ticket.

I had one in a member - guest 3 years ago in Socal......couldn't hit a shot after that the whole day.....lol

I had a similar shot into the green on the same hole but finished 3 feet away, great shot!!! Too bad you did not see it go in but in any case seal that scorecard up for sure, an albatross is indeed rare.

More like 99.99999%.

Congratulations. Savour it. I've only had one in 48 years of golfing, and many more aces. Double eagles are rare indeed.

Impressive. Of my circle of golf buddies, I don't know a single one that has EVER got an albatross.

At least your shot of a lifetime was something to brag about 100%.

My best friend performed what I think is the most impressive shot ever while I was golfing a round with him. He normally likes to exaggerate "a little" so if I hadn't witnessed it myself I wouldn't have believed it.

Here's the scenario:
He was golfing a brutal round. Well over 100 and still had 3 holes to go (normally golfs low to mid 90's). 16th hole he somehow manages to start hitting even worse so he decides he is quitting. I keep on playing and just laugh it off while calling him a wuss.

While I am playing he starts messing around with his PW; basically whacking his ball with the PW while carrying his clubs on one shoulder. He is trying funny stuff like trying to hit it decent from between his legs, etc. You get the idea.

We are now 40-50 yards out from the hole and my friend says he is going to try a backhand shot with the PW at the green. Picture him holding the PW in his left hand, golf bag over the right shoulder, kind of takes a run at the ball and swings while facing away from the hole

and...

Sinks the ball in the hole on 2 bounces. Now that is truly a shot of a lifetime and will never be repeated.

Needless to say he started playing again on the 17th.

Nicely done! The closest I have been is for an eagle putt... from about 35 feet away :(. Needless to say I never made either of the two chances I had...

Way to go though!!!
