I have not but I have been to Punta Cana and the beach is incredible there.
I played Cocotal this past christmas and it was a really nice course in great condition. I would compare its quality to that of Emerald Links at its best.
The only issue for me was that the waste bunkers were hard and people drove through them with their carts. And almost every fairway had one tree in the middle of it. A little too gimmicky.
If you are getting a package through a hotel, make sure to book your rounds straight with the course. Don't trust the hotel guys. Just get the vouchers from them.
And although you book a tee time, it was a bit of a free for all to tee off.
Also, afternoons are more quiet than mornings.
one note, waste bunkers are jus tthat waste and you can drive thogh them with carts it is allowed.
i havea frined who played there a lot last year, he liked it quite a bit, didn;t have really anything bad to say about it, just hoe your golf is included,
went to jamaica this past week, all inclusive with all you can golf at the sandals in dunns river, it was fantastic!!! just paid cart fees, didn;t even have to get the caddie liek they daid you had too
As nhwott mentioned, I played it last Feb. Great course (was the 2nd best in the Punta Cana area... after La Cana... now #3 now that the new course just opened up). (Better than Barcelo, white sands, or catalonia) I guess EL would be a good comparison. Greens were quite fast when I played.
i wondered when you would chim in there
how is fatherhood treating you ?
If you stay at either the Melia Caribe or the Melia Tropicale in Punta Cana, all your golf costs you is $40 per round for a cart. I think the Sol Meila resort chain own the golf course.
I played the course twice last year - it's decent but not worth $180 regular green free. I'd compare the course to something like Outaouais here - grasslands course with trees in places.
Chris , My wife and I played twice in mid January, first time very wet but played OK ,second time just great. It is very lush. We also stayed at the Melia Caribe, a great resort.
