Open today-$25 for 9 holes.
Egad, that's a tad steep no?
I was hoping that they would be charging $15 for 9 holes and $25 for 18. I think they would be a lot busier if they brought their price down.
Agreed. I just happened to stop by the Nevada Bob's yesterday for the first time and noticed that the course looked like it was ready.
I had considered taking my son there but at $50 there's no way. I'll wait until 4:30 and go to SB for $60 and get a cart + range balls to boot.
I am 5 minutes away and was hoping to play after work in the evenings, but that ain't gonna happen at $25 for 9 holes! Too bad, looks like a fun track.
Yikes! That's 2.77$ per hole plus tax---and I can't use my driver! :-)
Its pretty nice. Nicer than Marchwoods I think.
I would imagine if one was to build a course like this you wouldn"t want just anybody on it.
Perhaps by pricing it so high they figure they will attract the more serious player who wants to practice.
I'm pretty sure thats their intent as I seem to remember Charlie talking about their direction.
I guess time will tell if its the right direction. The course is impecable and can't be considered "executive" in the sense of many others in the area.Of course thats my opinion only.
Maybe it's 25.00$ with a cart. :-)
I called Nevada Bob's and they said the cost was $25 during the week and $27.50 during weekends. I tried to confirm whether the price was for 9 or 18 holes. It appears that this is the price for 9 holes, but I am not 100% certain that there was not a communication problem.
Went there on Sunday and with tax it came to $29 for 9 holes, steep for sure. It's nice though, lot's of veriety depending on which of the 3 tee boxes you shoot from. The blues had a 205 and a 230 yarder, challenging for sure. Very good shape too and love (to hate) the sand.
$29 for nine holes (par 3) is crazy. I can see the course from my house but I'll never play it at that price. If I am driving home from work and want to golf I would rather play Meadows ($26) or Anderson ($27.50) and get in a full 18 on a full length course.
how could they charge any less and make it work? Doesn't it cost about $10 for a large bucket out there? Close to $30 is steep though for par 3, nine holes, I do have to admit.
Ultimately the market will decide.
Personally, I'd be OK paying up to $20 (tax included).
$10 for a large bucket is reasonable when you consider you can work on your short game, practice putting, play sand shots and then hit the range. I'm usually there for 1.5 hours during a normal practice session. The par 3 course should not take much longer than that to play and is 3 times the price.
That price is insane, i wonder what they are thinking? It cost me and the lady 15.90$ each to play the Marshes Par 3 course and i think that is a perfect price right up to the 20$ mark maybe.
I have to assume they will figure that out soon enough. If the market will bear it, all the power to them:thumbsup I was planning on going a couple of times a week with Bugsy and our son but that would be over $90 for the three of us.... not for a par 3.... hell will freeze over before that happens! :meditate: :-)
Maybe it's got something to do with the latest Stats Can Report----"The riding of Orleans has the highest per capita income in the country" Oh yeah that's right its a gov't report---they have been known to be wrong. They failed to mention that there are a lot of us cheap old farts (sorry no smily) here too! :-)
I have been driving by the course for a couple of years now and it looks like the course would provide a decent challenge for your short game. I am still optimistic that the owners will get creative and offer a more tempting deal like $20 for 9 holes and a small bucket of balls. That would be a reasonable price for a couple of hours of entertainment.
I shake my head when I drive by going to and from work everyday. This morning at 8:15 there was one twosome on the course and yesterday afternoon at 5:00 there were two twosomes and a threesome :rolleyes don't know how they can survive with that traffic. I hope it picks up for them.
I have to agree with albatrossman--this is a practice facility. I am almost sure that if they offered a medium size bucket of balls and a 9 hole round for 22.00 all taxes' they would be overwhelmed. As it is they may have people on the range for only 6.00 but after they finish their bucket they are gone---this way the client stays around--spends more money etc---maybe a small outdoor patio with some cool ones would work too :)
On the other hand, judging from the earlier posts, $20 to have a golf course to yourself for a few hours is not a bad deal!

Just stopped in and talked to a few of the guys coming off the course---they said the conditions were absolutely great but 25.00 was too much---they played out of curiosity mostly. :)
Eventually, they will get it.... I'd prefer 2 groups at 15.00-20.00 each than 1 group at 25.00 each... more people in...more opportunity to sell other things (like lessons, range, drinks, etc)....
