At the Gatineau golf show at la Fonderie Center, I came across a booth where they were demonstrating a simulator connected to a PC. It consist in a mat with a ball attached to a sensor rod. You hit the ball and it gives you a reading. You can go at it full swing, and it gives you esssentially the same readings as the BentGrass or Golf Max. Except you do not have the feeling of seing the ball hit the screen... and pursue its course in the water.
But you can check what happened on the screen just like playing Links but with a real swing.
I have not tested it fully... therefore I cannot posture and say that my real swing is better or worse tha what the machine tells me.
The guy at the boot says he is the only canadian distributor. The comany name is InfoExpert and they have a store on St-Joseph Blvd.
The software and launching pad cost something like $300. Not bad compared to the $10G installations. Iwth some creativity you could hook the Computer to a large monitor... or a set of virtual realilty goggles.
Go and give it a try during the week-end and post your appreciation.
