I just noticed on the Foresight Sports web-site that they have information regarding their new software. Looks interesting....
anyone know when it will be out?
any more info..what exactly is this and what will it do? I am close to get my GC2
Out in April or may
What does the FSX bring to the table over the current software release?
Better graphics, online play, and the use of information within the cloud to name a few.
Should have my new gc2 by then end of week, and also ordered the new FSX software and 1 course.....was to be released on march 15th, and the first course would be April 1st. but was told today it would all be released on april 1st. Hoping it comes out soon! I would think they would be flashing it everywere, but dont see anything on it, hope it isnt a let down. Looks great ion the 4 pictures ive seen. Anyone have anything more on it?
Please send us pictures. I think we get a cheaper price if you have the old FSX software. Is the new software online capable?
what are the improvements?
I think you do too (get it cheaper ). Biggest Ive heard is that its being done "inhouse" by foresight, so I would think it would be pretty adaptive to their equipment. The online play, I was told by the distributor Im getting the GC2 from will be available, but not until later this year, and also there is some form of cloud abilities. I got my fingers crossed that it will come out on time (april 1st) but that is April Fools Day, I hope it doesn't get me :p
Sounds like I will have some time to get use to the old software. I have only played a course or two and still tinkering around
So I have used the new cloud competition For FSX Compete now and it was pretty cool. The on line leader board is updated live along with your performance scores from the skills challenge. Should be a great transition to On Line game play, statistics and combine as data accumulates and is categorized within the cloud.
I can also say the course play graphics will be a big improvement over the current software with endless potential for future growth so expect versions to improve quickly once it is released.
Upgrade fee is about $1000 from FR1.
Golfsimexpert, did you get any video as you mentioned a few weeks ago?
Unfortunately not. Too much going on that weekend and I completely forgot about it.
The version was range only, nothing impressive to show on the graphics side.
Does anyone know what all you get if you are upgrading? Do you get the PLAY, FIT and COMPETE software for $995?
Yes you do.
Golfsimexpert - do you have the new software or did you just get to demo it?
I have it.
How many courses do you get for the 1K upgrade cost?
Golfsimxpert - can you share any information relative to the new FSX software? How does it compare to the current software? What makes it better? Anything worse? Are there any putting games or up and down games? For putting I would love to see a game where you can putt from different distances automatically. For chipping an up and down game would be great - you chip to a target and then need to putt out. Do you have any documentation on the features and functionality of the new software? Foresight's web-site really provides very little information.
Golferinmd -- only 1 course based on what I know. Initially they will only have 1 course based on what I have been told.
What is Foresight's plan with courses. Do you have to pay so much money for a few courses or they giving more courses for the price in the upgrade. I second Kball's request!
That is too bad. I think the courses are too expensive as it is. I have invested a good amount of money already!
I would really like a side by side comparison between old and new to help decide if it is time to upgrade
What i have been told is that the FSX software comes with 1 course, then every 4-5 weeks they will release another course, at or around $100. At least this way you can get the ones you want. Me personally,
I dont think I will be buying dozens of them. GC2 is due in my driveway on tuesday, and the FSX software is suppose to be released on April 1st.
I am excited about the new software - I hope it turns out to be good. Sony420 - congratulations on your new GC2 - it is an awesome simulator.
Sony..you will like the GC2. I was using mine for about 2 hours today! I may do the upgrade but want to see the side by side comparison and see if it is worth another $1000
I will post some info as soon as i get it. I have played some holes at golftec on the GC2 with the older software. i was smiling the whole time knowing whats coming. Of course im going to get it on tuesday when we are expecting a nor'easter. My hitting bay is set up outside right now. Got a cimmaron 10x10x10 hitting bay, country club elite mat, a wheeled cart with a 48 inch tv and a shelf for a laptop. Just got the laptop as well, another $1800. The new software has some heavy requirements for graphics with the 4k resolution, but ill never see anything more than 1080P. So i am very ready for this to happen! Working on a amish build garage 24x28 12ft ceiling to house a hitting bay, hopefully by this time next year, all about the benjamins! ( or now, lack of!)
You can call it the "Amish Clubhouse" or "Amish Country Club". LOL
I was thinking " The Horse and Buggy Country Club" haha
