Still waiting for the new ball detection method that will improve LA and ball path measurements.
Just got email that they are now working on a new ball method. Keep our fingers crossed that it will happen soon!!!
So, has anyone figured out why since the new course pack the Protee play crashes when you play courses with flyover at the beginning.
Not a clue mhale. All I can think of is my laptop's specifications (video card, cpu) are not enough. Are you running on a laptop? I have an i-7 1.6gz (without running turbo boost) 4mb ram and a GTS 360m 1gb video card. It is not keeping up with the maximum graphics anyway so I have ordered a gaming desktop. It is strange that only those courses are affected. Beore installing the course 5 pack, all the courses worked just fine. But now even the older courses with the flover at the beginning won't work. Suggestions such as installing the newest drivers for the video card and direct x, and removing some programs running in the background didn't help.
It is a mystery? I have no issues with the courses. I have had it stop once or twice only while loading but other than that its been good, new and old courses.
Yeah no issues here.
Been through a lot of issues here lately with my computers and graphics card(s)
Make sure you have updated DirectX. Do it a few times!
My laptop did not take all the newer component on the first update.
See if you got an update for the graphics drivers.
Stop all updates and small programs that you might have running in the back ground/ on the taskbar.
Not sure why but to me it looks like there are less problems if the cams are running in 320 x 240 vs 640 x 480?
I got a laptop very similar to Psace and have just played the front 9 on Olympic with max graphics settings and the only problems I had was I could not remove the flag sticks from the holes and the greens was very fast!
I have a desktop computer with I5-760 2.8ghz quadcore cpu, 4gb ram, GTX 465 1gb video card, and I only use this computer for Protee Golf Sim, I only have the Projector hooked up for display no monitor. I wonder if it has to do with the USB, when I installed the vision cameras I had to move around where I plugged in each camera, before I moved them around I could only get it would stop seeing through one of the cameras. Maybe I will get a PCI usb card and see if that helps. I have everything on max but never had problems before this new course pack. Although I installed the vision cameras and the new courses close to the same time. I did reinstall Direct X 11 and checked that my video drivers were up to date.
Yes, when I unplugged one camera, it will work for me so maybe a usb issue.
In my camera setup instructions, it said that each camera must be on a separate USB controller. My ATX motherboard has two built-in controllers but I also have 2 PCI USB 2.0 controller cards installed, for a total of 4 controllers. My cameras are on the two extra cards and everything else(USB mouse, wireless remote, keyboard, etc....) are on the two built-in controllers.
It's good to have an ATX motherboard and extra PCI/PCI-express slots in case I need more cameras.:-)
I will check and see if I have a usb controller around if not I will have to buy one and let you know if this fix's my problem, probably take me a day or 2.
I just ordered this one...http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...E:L:OC:US:3160
Powered by the power supply to ensure no voltage drop occurs. Should be overkill.
All very good and important points guys!!!
The question still remains: why did this happen after installing course pack 5 when this update is only supposed to be just another batch of courses?
Ok, I added 2 more usb slots in my computer using an extra controller on the mother board, and I hit balls on Olympic for about an hour with no crash's, which before it crashed pretty quickly. I moved my sensor pad cable to the new usb controller, and so I believe I have each device on its own controller and not sharing with any other devices. So I hope this helps smoebody else who is having the same problem. FYI - When I moved my sensor pad to the new usb I had to change my comm port in the Protee interface.
Can anyone guide me on which folder in Windows 7 the player images are stored. The Protee support center indicates folder c:\programdata\proteeportal\games\proteesim\sys\cr eateplayer, but my W7 system does not have a c:\programdata folder. I also could not find the default delivered images.
Does this C drive refer to the Protee server?
No the C:\ drive is local and you got it!
You might not have the Windows 7 on it?
Open the [Computer] on your start menu. You will see the drives that are installed on your computer.
Check the for the 'Program Data' folder. could be the D:\
Thanks Syhlif32. My Programdata folder was hidden.
Play 9 holes at Cranberry last night. Nice course. 6300 from the longest tees and 5300 for the reds. Very similar to a local course nearby. Good course for my daughter and I to practice on. Another course looks very nice is Montuor Heights. It has lots of rolling hills.
Just had a quick look and agree Z. Nice courses!
How does the elevation drop on Cranberry look on hole #3 in the game? I've played the course a number of times and I'd be interested to know how well the elevation change translates to a computer screen. Depending on exactly where the wind is coming from, it can be a 3 club drop from the yardage on the card.
It's a scary shot for sure. It's a 25 yard drop and looks very close to the picture on the webpage. It played at 175 and I used my 150 club. 12 ft from the pin and made par.
Here's Cranberry hole 3.
