Hahahaha, guess I should have looked at the schedule before posting that.
bears bears bears.
My observations after 3 weeks:
Randy Moss can no longer jump, he has a pathetic 1 inch vertical. i love the guy but come on, at least TRY TO JUMP for those high balls that Brady throws your way! he'd have 3 td's easy if he just JUMPED!!
Redskins need a heart transplant. They dont care about football, just their paychecks. This is true of this entire organization, from the players to the coaches to the owner. They are like the New York Rangers of football, they just dont care.
Steelers are suffering from the superbowl hangover. They will make the playoffs because they have a cupcake schedule this year, but I can see the Ravens or Colts knocking them out in the playoffs.
Jets are not for real. They will not make the playoffs.
I know it's hard to believe but Favre's ego just got bigger.
Eagles have too many QB's!!! They should trade Vick to an AFC basement team and get a #1 WR like Andre Johnson in return. Kolb and McNabb are good enough at QB.
Chad Pennington's shoulder is hanging by a chad. Sigh. I'm a long suffering dolphin fan who would like to see Marino back at QB. Please come back Dan. We need your fire in the huddle.
A Manning Superbowl is a possibility. I dont think i could watch it though.
I was on my way to cash the tickets until the last 15 seconds of darn Steelers' game... :irked: :hissyfit:
The Jets will make the play-off. They will have at least 11 wins... check the schedule... Miami (2), Buff (2), Oakland, Tampa Bay, Carolina and Jacksonville.
A bit harder are patriots, New Orleans, Atlanta, Indy and Bengals.
PS: That is why the Vikings got Favre... I don't think there is another QB in the league that can make that throw... amazing!
buffalo will still win it all.
After 3 weeks, it's too early to tell. Having a good proline year so far, won 2 out of 3 weeks.
One thing I know for sure is Peyton Manning is just, wow. He's getting close to being the best all-time in my books.
Donny, it is not what you do in September that counts. It is what you do in January (and February).
Only 1 Super Bowl with all those good teams.
Big Ben and Brady are not as fancy but they win...
As for the Jets, it is a new team. Young QB, new coach, new attitudes,etc... I really think they are for real.
A QB gets too much credit for being on a super bowl winning team and a QB gets too little credit when his teams don't win the Super Bowl. Peyton's set of skills and game management are second to none. Montana is my all-time great, but man he was surrounded by so much talent on both sides of the ball. You mention Brady and Big Ben, both have had amazing defenses and in Brady's case the most clutch field goal kicker of all time.
dude, hook me up with some picks for next week. i haven't won anything in proline in 5 years. i play pointspread and select 12 games. $2 = $2,000. i got 9/12 picks right last week. 1 short of winning some money. :irked:
Here are my week 4 picks, no spread, just straight up:
TB @ WAS
NYG @ KC
CIN @ CLE
SEA @ IND
OAK @ HOU
TEN @ JAC
BAL @ NE
DET @ CHI
BUF @ MIA
NYJ @ NO
STL @ SF
DAL @ DEN
SD @ PIT
GB @ MIN
Baltimore and Indy are definitely the class of the AFC. This week is a good test for Baltimore if they win this, in NE they are for real.
The JETS are pretenders.
Jets, Baltimore and Indy are the class of the AFC at the moment. Injuries can derail a team at any time though.
Jets have a great start and Sanchez is a cool and collected QB for a rookie. Very impressed by his performance. Sorry but the Bills are still loosers, how could they loose that first game against the Pats with 3 minutes to go.
Peyton is still the best out there IMO. Even when the Colts have a bad game like against Miami ( Manning sat on the bench for a long time) he can just kill you with a couple of plays. And what about Reggie Wayne, the most underated WR in the NFL and not a bum like ....... Finally Bob Sanders is coming back.
The sad thing is, that game against the pats was not nearly as depressing as sunday's game against the saints. For three and a half quarters they completely shut down the most explosive offense in the league..held them to 10 points. But, on their 8 possessions in that same time, they had one TD (on a fake field goal), one fumble, and 6 punts. The way their D played, all their offence had to do was to be mediocre against a pretty low ranking defense, and they couldn't do it.
Buffalo has an amazing ability to either play up to, or down to, just a hair below their opponents' abilities.
What do you think about this proline ticket Donny: Cincinnatti, Buffalo, and Tennessee to win by 4pts (V) on the road.
I like all but Buffalo. I think Miami wins, Buffalo's secondary is in shambles and Henne can throw the ball. Mind you I'm a huge Michigan fan, so there may be some emotion in this one.
I'm a Michigan fan and a Dolphins fan and I'm not too optimistic about the Henne era. He let me down so many times at Michigan, it's hard to forget. I hope that that was just the end of the loose Carr era and bad practice habits manifesting themselves in games, but I worry that he's not a good decision maker. I really hope I'm wrong.
This week he gets first team reps all week, and Buffalo's secondary is a mess. Two starters out, McKelvin and Whitner. It won't get any easier for him.
Buffallo's secondary has a good record for getting horribly beat up and still performing better than most. Also can't think of many teams who I'd rather have defending in the red zone. That said, their offense is atrocious. Should be an interesting game.
I'm with Donny on this one. I think Miami wins...
I also like San Diego's chances to cover in Pittsburgh.
bought my early bird tickets.
proline: SD, Cin, GB to win by 4 pts.
pointspread: Wash (-7pts), Hou (-9.5), Ten (-3.5), Cin (-6.5), SF (-9.5)
i disagree on buffalo, but didn't have enough cohones to play that game lol.
i agree SD will at least cover spread vs Pit; and i tried the hail mary that they will win by 4.
Cincinnati better not choke cuz both my tickets ride on that game! Browns are pathetic.
GB is a longshot against Vikings, but I think they genuinely will try to end Favre's career on Monday night lol. they do not want to lose to a 41 year old greybeard.
Washington is a disaster, but they're playing a team that had 80 some yards of offense total last week. The Bucs are even more hopeless.
Houston has an offense, Oakland doesn't.
Tenessee is a top 5 team, they HAVE TO win sometime! This is the week they get rolling.
SF without Gore still beats the Rams by 2 touchdowns. STL is missing Bulger, their top WR, so the RB Jackson is the only threat on that team. SF is good against the run, game over.
I notice there's a lot of terrible teams in the NFL this year. Parity doesn't apply to these sorry franchises.
I'll be glued to the tv watching the Pats/Ravens; Jets/Saints; Boys/Broncos; Chargers/Steelers; god this weekend is going to be awesome.
heh heh, nice to have another glued to the tv on sundays.
So I stayed away from the Buffalo game, figured I'm not being objective. Go Henne! Sorry Jon.
