woo hoo going to Iroquois in the morning
Is there a course openings link here on the forum to track the openings?
I played Iroquois Tuesday afternoon. Last time I played the course was 20 years ago. Course is flat, open layout, many par 5s, not much trouble.
Greens: Better than I expecting this early in the year, a few punch holes here and there but rolling very nicely for the most part.
Fairways: consistently cut everywhere, some wet spots here and there, but no real puddles to worry about. Typically I play it as it lies, but with damp ground we'd roll the ball to place it how you like, otherwise it'd always be sitting down. Looks like they'll dry out in a couple of days.
Tee boxes: Well cut, well grassed, no complaints here.
Place of play: 3 of us teed off around 2 pm, there were 2 twosomes infront of us, no real speed issues at all finished in just under 4 hours. The course lends itself to quick rounds.
Yes the link was called "Spring Opening's" it was really useful. They had a calendar indicating which coursed was opening on which date. I haven't seen it for a few years now, I wonder why?

I am playing Mapleview on Saturday. I didn't book it, but according to my friend who did, the good people there decided they would open early. I think they are open tomorrow, but probably not on Friday though, given the chance of heavy rain.
I'll report conditions... as I have before when we played it early in the season and it was quite playable.
I agree, it's a little bizarre that the Spring Openings link is not there, very visible on the home page, like it used to be. Same for fall closings.
Yes...That calendar was very useful.
Prescott next Tuesday, booked. !!!! Looking forward to this.
Played Iroquois a few days ago and would echo the poster’s comments above. Have a tee off there again tomorrow. Hoping today’s rain drains in time to play!
Played Iroquois on March 23 (earliest I've ever been out in Canada). The course was actually in decent shape. Greens were slow and bumpy from aeration holes and there was some damp areas that were avoidable...no wet feet!
Overall, it was great to get out again to play. Can't beat the price either, basically a $1 a hole, almost can't go to a driving range for that price..Going back on Tuesday March 30...hopefully yesterdays rain drains by then..
+1 on bring that back :)
Looks like Champlain might be open Easter weekend. Carts are already out of the winter shed.
