Air Canada told golfer her clubs were on the next flight, but they showed up for sale on Kijiji
'To think that maybe I'm helping someone regain their ability to play golf ... is really exciting'
Interested to see the results... Feel free to be honest and not politically correct.
Played, what I assume will be, my final round this season today. Given the cold weather, I decided to play from the white tees (approximately 6,000 yards). I'm going to make this really short - I had a great time! I shot a 76 and thoroughly enjoyed myself. I wasn't looking for balls and had a...
I'm frustrated with the insane prices of new gear so I have started to dabble with the concept of building a Maltby set through Golfworks. I would get a driver, combo iron set, and 3 wedges. I could get all of this for around the same price as an M2 Driver and sleeve of Pro Vs. I'm...
On the heel’s of the “Golfsmith/Golftown restructuring” Post. Since that Post evolved into The Decline of Golf spectrum. My 2-bits on the future of golf. The courses like Pebble Beach, Hilton Head, Pinehurst#2 etc. Will never see there bookings drop. If Golf Equipment went to $10,000 for a set of...
Well had my last game of the year played at Canadian. Was pretty good shape, although few temp green as covering up greens for winter. Should have been a sad day, but I got my very first hole in one on 9 west at 100 yards. Didn't roll in was a slam dunk. Made it even sweeter. Called my Mom to...
For those who haven't seen it yet.
About a year ago I was surprised (and annoyed) by a group of young fellas with a boombox playing while they golfed. Fortunately, they were only within earshot for a few minutes on that occasion.
Last week I noticed a group in my league had one going. They were a couple of groups ahead of us,...
I have kenneth smith oversized 4(x2) 8 (x2) 6 (x2) and a pitching wedge, a putter and 1 10.5 driver they all have a gold crown on the and ks 2000, can anyone tell me what they would be worth? I am looking to get rid of some extra golf clubs we have
Morning all, received a flyer with my paper this AM. Ad for a liquidation of golf equipment, clothing etc. this coming Friday/Saturday. Been to one of these many moons ago in Bells Corners and was disappointed. Seems like it is a couple-of-times-a-year thing. Just looking for comments about the...
Hey guys, got a hole in one today at Sorcier, my first but hopefully not my last. It was on the second par 3 on the front nine, #7 before you go back to the clubhouse side. That hole is appropriately named "L'Enfer" or "Hell". Today's pin was 194 yards and on the left side of the green.
Played golf the other day and like most golfers have done I forgot a club right beside the green. I didn't notice it for quite some time so I had no idea where I left it. On getting back to the clubhouse I waited for some golfers who were behind me and asked if they had seen my club and believe it...
I know a lot of you still play tips and whites but i think this year i will be moving to the senior tips. I have never been a long hitter by no means and its just getting harder for me to reach par 4's in two. I just want to enjoy the game more.
Re-joining Buckingham after 4 years and look forward...
Loblaws has a deal for 20% off $50 Golf Town Cards. This is definitely a great deal, it's summer time and if you were thinking of getting some new golfing gear, now is the time!
This deal is in participating Atlantic Superstore, Zehrs, Superstore, Fortinos, Dominion, Zehrs, Real Canadian...
Yep, not for the faint of heart. Its on my bucket list. Golf channel has it on this morning. Would love to go if i could get over my fear of flying and my if my wife would let me go.LOL.
So I have never been a big advocate of practice swings. Mostly because I see people take too many and it really throws the pace of play off (not 1-2 but acting like a pro). So I had essentially trained myself to help pick up other players slow play by playing faster. My routine was, get distance -...
My friends and I will be launching a pre-owned golf equipment and golf ball website and I was wondering if there are any forum rules that need to be respected before doing so.
Any information or recommendations you have would be greatly appreciated as we'd like to start things off...
dunno if this poll has been done before but im wondering where people on this site stand in their handicaps? seems as though there are alot of good golfers here, and im just curious
Thought this could be helpful to many -
I know of a few places (Canadian, Metcalfe) that offer free golf on your birthday, or 6 months later for the winter born...
Any other courses that anyone knows of? TIA
I had to share this as its too good not too.
I was playing Canadian last week. Not playing overly well but not horrid either. We get to #9. I have honors. We are playing the orange. I hit a slightly pulled 8 iron going at a back right pin. As a lefty it drifts towards the trees I cant see. I am...
Well recovery sucks and I wish it went faster. I had open hernia repair for an inguinal hernia and although I had one before on the other side (Shouldice method), this time it seems to take much longer to recover. It's been almost 4 weeks and I don't think that I'm anywhere near being able to play....
My Taylormade burner 2009, 10.5, regular shaft driver gives me 215 yards presently, I would like to get 20-25 more yards.. Any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks in advance.
An 11-year-old boy on Wednesday played the opening shot on a new golf course with co-designer Tiger Woods watching — and scored a hole-in-one. (March 3)

Hey guys! I'm looking for a good book to read, of course, golf related. I have read paper tiger and the big miss in the past few months. I'm open to any suggestion.
Got on the topic with some people of Halfway house snacks. What is your go to snack / meal at the half way? What are some neat ideas you think golf courses should add.
I'm all for a slushie machine!
Who was lucky enough to get out today,it was pure awesome weather.Might be the last day like this till spring.Kingsway was in nice condition and pretty busy
I've been wondering about this for a while, and haven't seen it discussed on here so I thought I'd start a discussion thread - if this is a repost, apologies.
Why do we label people as "low/mid/high handicappers" when discussing which clubs are best suited to their game, when we rarely seem to...
Good Morning Form members,
Quick post to share, I had my car broken into and one item that was stolen was my Bushnell V2 rangefinder (orange). These items are pretty golf specific so I thought I'd throw a quick post to the Ottawa area golfers. If anyone is in contact with someone looking to...
Does anyone out there know the minimum specs (frames/sec, megapixels, etc.) for a camera to record the golf swing and see the shaft (or most of it)?
 I played Newcastle Golf and Country club on Friday---nice course but I had trouble in the water hazards---could not see my ball for the huge Lake Ontario Salmon---next time I bring my rod !!!!!! :-)
Anyone know if an ottawa based golf course tried implementing this style of play?
I'm finding it more and more difficult to find 4-5 hours to play a round. 2-2.5 hours would be perfect!
Here is the link to the case study
I voted yes.
I generally bring a banana and a couple of granola bars to eat during the round, but a couple of weeks ago a buddy of mine showed up with a dozen Golden Palace egg rolls that we scarfed down during our Thursday evening round, which got me to wondering;
What is everyones favourite, or most...
Hi /Does anyone know where that guy is selling used ball in Aylmer or Gatineau ?
or the name of his company
Just went by Shoppers DrugMart and saw a 2-pack for $32....I'm thinking there has to be a better deal somewhere else.
Anyone have any suggestions for me?
Seen alot of used ball sites based in the US but just wondering if there's any Canadian companies selling used balls?
May be easier than paying customs and delivery charges
First time this afternoon. #2 at Stonebridge in Ottawa, 159 yards, 7 iron, one hop 3 feet from the hole and in! I was in shock. Hit a beautiful shot with a nice little draw right at it but how many times do we do that and it doesn't go in. One of the toughest par 3's in the city, over water with...
Anyone here play any scoring variations to mix things up? I noticed there exists one on TruGolf e6 software, and in turn found this one.. Any others people like?
Not supposed to be an advert, but this is the best explanation they have of the scoring method!
Well I finally decided to throw my name in to get tickets this year. My wife had been doing so for some time and stupidly I never did. I did not get any tournament days but managed to get the Wednesday practice round which includes the par 3 contest.
I am very excited and my wife will accompany...
I had a Wheel Bearing fall apart on my Sun Mountain Speed Cart. The offered solution was a complete new wheel that was not in stock.
I decided to attempt my own repair. I was able to remove the old broken pressed in bearing without doing further damage to the wheel.
I took the wheel, old bearing...
I need a 7-iron (steel shaft- right hand) to complete my set. Does anyone have one for sale??
Which of the following accomplishments would be the most satisfying to you:
- A hole in one.
- Shoot a career low round.
- Improve upon your career best handicap factor.
I don't think this is a repost, but I found this quite interesting. I'd love to go to one of those TopGolf Range/nightclubs, that looks awesome.
Interesting article in today's New York Times http://www.nytimes.com/2014/04/19/sports/golf/in-a-hole-golf-considers-digging-a-wider-one.html?hp&_r=0
Had enough of it, having played both Stonebridge and Kanata this year to have at least 5 incidents each time where there are just idiots roaming the course, whether it be dog walkers, kids playing, or just stupid ignorant adults. Last year was the same. Carefree and clueless. Have never seen a...
On the idea of "distance claims" can we come up with a question that will give a more reasonable picture of distance. Let's try the following:
Which club would you use if you had 170yds to the pin?
Just because I know there will be questions:
- no elevation change between you and the pin
Anyone else get notified for tickets. I got 2 for Monday not 100 percent sure I can go but purchased the tickets anyway.
