I hit 51 on Feb 20. Like rhh7 I am happy to be here after the ordeal I went through last May.
This coming May I am retiring from Ford, FREEDOM 51
Some days I feel really old, some days I feel really young! Depends on how damp it is outside! My opinions are my own, I do not follow others.

Wow, i am amazed on how many of us old farts are out there. You would think that we would be playing lawn bowling at our age. I guess the golf keeps us young at heart(at least thats what the wife says)By the way just hit 54 couple weeks ago but inside i am 16.

I'm 23, and I had to do the math to be sure. I don't know how some of you old farts keep track of all those years. Is there a memory feature on your abacus?
Let's put a Smile on that Face!

I too snuck in to the 30-34 bracket, but I'll be stepping into the older one in 2 weeks.
Mentally I've got to be at least a teenager, physically I'm a god.
jk, I'm getting old like everybody else.Andrew

Man, my knee is acting up like nobody's business today. Feels like its about ready to explode. I should probably go to a doctor, but they only ever give bad news like "stay off of it for three months." I think i'll just throw a brace on it and take an advil. I definitely don't feel 21 today though.

For $975 I would be no further ahead. I still need the specialist and the surgeon It is his availability that is the problem.

Yes, that would be a problem........
Alternatives are going out of province for surgery. I do not know about Quebec, but understand B.C. has short wait time for your type of non-emergency surgery.
Remember reading a few years back about a promising high school basketball player in Ottawa who required knee surgery. Her situation was like yours 18 - 24 month wait.
Her parents sent her to B.C. for her surgery. As they explained if she waited in Ontario she would never get to play again in high school as she would have graduated before getting the surgery.
Do not quote me on this, but it seems that knee surgery was in the $5,000 range.
Here is one in B.C. http://www.asc-vancouver.ca/
This one is in Quebec. Looks like they do knees.......

Yes, it might be worth the wait. Looks like the price of knee and hip replacement has gone up to more than $12,000.............
Just think how far $12,000 will go at GolfTown !!!!
Best of luck !!
"More than 100 doctors in Quebec have already opted out of the public system.
Dr. Nicolas Duval is one of them. He operates a private orthopedic surgery clinic where patients pay more than $12,000 for knee and hip replacement surgery."

38 in June.
I often forgot and have to ask my wife my age. I stopped keeping track after 25 years.
