Your 2009 Goals
Okay, I guess now's as good a time as any. What do you want to accomplish in the 2009 golf season?
I'm taking a different tack this year. No "hard" targets. My plan is take the game as it comes, enjoy every swing, and not be too hard on myself over a less-than-perfect result. Too much stress in the rest of life. No room left for it on the golf course.
Easy peasy lemon squeezy.When applying the Rules, you follow them line by line. You don't read between them.

My goals, in order of difficulty:
1. Golf 80+ rounds
2. Enjoy the game as much or more than I did last year
3. Start regularly breaking 100
4. Get to or below 18 HCP (that's 10.5 strokes from my current HCP )

Same here.Its getting harder to perform as you get a bit older(on the golf course) but,i dont set too many goals,just try and play my best and enjoy our time together.I would like to lower my hdcp. to 10 or so if i work hard at it but i am not willing to put in the time and energy.So 2009 will be a great year whatever happens.

I am going to keep it simple this year.
1. Get my first ace.
2. Make the 36 hole cut in the Citizen.Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!

Mine would be...
- Handicap factor back where it belongs at 12.5 That would be -2 from from my current 14.4
- Team Green to retain the NCGT Ryder Cup - It looks great on my shelf BTW.
- Beat NoBack straight up when he's not having a horrid round. This one has been on my list for years. I can beat him when he colapses and stops caring, but I want to beat him when he's on his game.
- Have fun with my friends. Life is too short to worry TOO much about your golf game. A healthy desire to improve and root buddies along is the best approach. IMHO
- 100 rounds - no problem unless I have an injury so we'll call this "good health"
Life dinnae come wit gimmies so yuv got nae chance o' gitt'n any from me.

1. Shoot my age.
2. As achieving the above, winning tournaments or lowering the factor are obviously incidental to how I play, I continue to work on improving each of the skill areas. At my age, however, if I just stayed the same, it would almost be like a gain.
3. Continue expanding my knowledge of The Rules of Golf and to be a better, on course, rules official.
4.Continue my current routine of walking, running, skating, snowshoeing, biking, working out, every day.

My golf objectives this year are, in no particular order:
1. play a round of golf at least once a week with my wife;
2. continue to have fun each and every time I play;
3. lower my handicap index to 2.5;
4. play in the Ottawa Golf match against the boys from Toronto;
5. attempt to hit every shot with a clear idea of what I want to accomplish.

-Play double what I did last year. So about 70 rounds.
-Get to a 10 or less handicap from 14. Same goal as last year.
-Practise at least once per week, especially 9-LW.
-Win at least one of the NCGT low gross rounds.

Only one goal: To finish the season with the exact same 14 clubs that will be in my bag at the beginning of the season!
If you're not wasted...the day is!

1 – Try to lower HDCP in the single digit
2 – Shoot in the 70's more often
3 – Continue enjoy the game with my friends
4 – Play 100+ round again next year
Can't wait for spring...If you think it's hard to meet new people, try picking up the wrong golf ball.

most important goal of my year will be to be a big part of bringing back the OG/TGN Ryder Cup trophy back to Ottawa. Was a part of the inaugural team that won it and wasn't on the team last year. With all respect to the Toronto boys, that trophy belongs in O-town.
After that, would love to become a 'consistent' 2 or lower cap and start shooting par or better on a semi-regular basis. For this to happen I need to continue my improvement of irons/wedges and putter but really I have to figure the driver out, 250-260 is not going to cut it for me this year. As well as my irons are going, I can't consistently play well hitting 5irons into the greens.

First and foremost I want to get out and play more this year. Last year play was restricted due to time away because of work. Along with that is a bit more practice time and taking my first set of lessons in 5 years...
It could be that the purpose of your life is only to serve as a warning to others.

My goals are 1) Take care of the knee issues. 2) leave only 1 in 10 fifteen foot and in putts short of the hole. 3) strive to play 6 rounds of golf during the year under the course ratings. 4) Try to increase my fairways hit to around 60 %, even if it means using the 3 wood more from off the tee.

Only one goal this year. To beat Gropper at least 51% of the times I play with him.
Oh and to have a relatively back pain free season, drop the index by 5 points, make it past the second round of the forum ladder match, play more, drive the ball longer.Proud member of the 2009 Ryder Cup winning team

2009 is going to be my year.
Get the index into the single digits & keep it there.
Beat Hoolio straight up, & outdrive him when he's hit a decent one.
Play well in the qualifiers in the spring & make the teams I can at my home course.
Get some of the OG-ers up to Renfrew to play.
Play more, & continue to enjoy playing.
Get on the OG/TGN Ryder Cup & win.Andrew

What's the matter Steve, no goals this year? How about "finally out drive little brit and/or Iron Maiden"? No? Nothing?

Already done that Rich
already play over 100 rounds a year
already won my first NCGT event
already won the NCGT Ryder Cup
already won the Battle at Belleville
already won the Stuggy
already made an intersectional team
already been on a winning intersectional team
already picked up a 6 pointer in intersectionals
PLUS already took mpare's money
Not much left for this old guy, except having fun on the course.
But if you insist on something, holding my cap under 10 for more than a month this year. It was under 10 for a month last year but then it came back up.I've spent most of my life golfing .... the rest I've just wasted"
