Mine are:

- Regular lessons
- Two birdies in a row

Well, hopefully I get the opportunity to play a lot this summer, as the last few years have been a wash with weddings, bachelor parties, renos, selling a home, moving, renos, and then moving in lol.
My 2011 Goals:
- Use the OG handicap software religiously to actually know my true handicap.
- Get handicap below 8 for atleast a week.
- Shoot 5 rounds in the 70s
- Avg 2 birdies/round
- Finish the year, overall, at par or better on par 5s
- 50% sand save percentage.
I'm sure there will be more, but I'll amend my goals as the year progresses.

Well now that I'm finally playing again, I guess I should have some goals
1. Play enough to have a handicap before the first NCGT event (5 rounds, 15 days...should be able to swing that)
2. Get the handicap into the single digits by August 1st, keep it there
3. 32 Putts Per Round average, or less for the season (doesn't sound like much but would be amazing...for me )
4. 10 GIR/round avg August 1 to End of Season
5. 50% Fairways/round avg August 1 to End of SeasonNCGT Ryder Cup Team Green (06,07,08)
OG / TGN Ryder Cup Team Ottawa (07)

Similar to 2010
1. Shoot my age. 65/66. Best was 67 last year.
2. Win Club Championship. Would then have won CC's in 6 different decades.
3. Just play better golf, short game in particular, and measure this by handicap which rose to 3 last season.

Here we go. Goal #1 is always the hardest.
1. Record my first ace.
2. Get the handicap below 5 and keep it there
3. Improve on last year's Citizen performance. This not be easy since I made it all the way to the final round last year and finished 27th IIRC. Will need to bring the "A" game for 4 rounds to do that again. Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!

After a very sporatic season last year, seeing my cap go from a 4 to 10, I had decided
to work hard all winter, harder in the spring and keep it going all summer. so my goals
set;
-practice as many hours as I play.
-break par (did twice this week already! hard work is paying off early!)
-be competitive in rounds that count
-and help local juniors during our clubs junior camps!
-

- Get my index down to 2 or lower (already at an all-time low of 3.2)
- Take 2 or 3 lessons at least (first one tentatively scheduled for next week)
- Practice sessions at the Marshes at least twice a week
- Improve my physical conditioning by continuing to use my rowing machine in the summer
- Increase my total lifetime rounds under par... currently sitting at 1.
- Improve on my previous best Ottawa Citizen showing (T21)... or at least avoid playing
any individual holes at 7 over par.
- Try to get my 5-year old son out a little more... and figure out for sure whether he's
a lefty or a righty.

We're looking pretty similar this year:
- Handicap down to 5 (lowest was at 7.9 last year)
- regular practice (minimum once per week at my course would be much better than 3 times at the range all of last year)
- still haven't got an eagle since high school so that's the ongoing goal (2 birdies in a row is easy, c'mon Denis!!)
- I'm aiming for the OG double match play championship this year, look out singles and doubles!Even I've never heard of me

#2 get handicap under 5 and maintain it there!
#3 keeping drives in fairway
#4 trying not to 3 putt more than once a round!

4. Play with more OG'ers and put some faces to the namesI got a fever. And the only prescription is more golf equipment.

1. Make the Rideau View Intersectional Team - tough goal considering the level of play there
2. Qualify for the Big Three (Tunis, Kent, Am)
3. Improve my short game numbers in all categories
4. Win a tournament
All outcome goals for me - Rotella would cringe!

1. Play as much as possible. Hopefully 40 full rounds and lots of quality range time
2. Play with as many new people as possible (hopefully many from this forum )
3. Get my index down to 9.9
4. Play a minimum of 7 NCGT events and improve my average score on that tour by 7 strokes minimum
5. Encourage my daughters to try golf with me
6. Be sure to never take golf for granted. Enjoy every round for what it is, savour the course and the company, stay injury free and appreciate how lucky we are.
almost identical to last years...lol

Everyone can achieve their goals if they commit 112% to the Ben Crane workout.

Well after not playing a lot last year due to work and different shifts, and then a broken wrist I didn't accomplish anything from last year. So in light of this my goals this year is to just play and practice as much as I can. What ever happens... happens but I'm sure it will be good and I might get back on track for my goals that I had last year. I just want to keep enjoying golf!
Some courses I would like to play this year would be Loch March and play some of the public player tournaments, then I will finally get to play Eagle Creek.

Here is what I'm looking at for this year.
1. Lower my index by seven strokes by July (I have a comically high index, so it shouldn't be too hard)
2. Practice at least twice a week: one swing session on the range, and one short-game session
3. Play 50 rounds this year
To achieve my first goal, I'll probably have to focus on improving my short game: no more than two putts a hole, no fluffed chips, get out of the sand, hit the green with pitches, etc.
Reward: If I achieve my goal, then my reward is a brand-new used driver.

I've rededicated myself for the 2011 season. My goals are:
-Shoot new personal best round (65 or lower)
-Place in the top 10 in at least one of the Tunis, Kent or Amateur
-Top 25 in Canadian Am
-Tournament scoring average under 74
Some of them are optimistic but it's better to aim high I suppose.Last edited by bNeill; 06-16-2011 at 10:50 PM.
