Quite the round at Arnprior this morning, five holes of insane winds and blowing snow and sleet made the front nine a wash but the back was great. Course wintered nicely but is very wet and the greens are very very shaggy and brown/bare in many spots.

I played Kingsway yesterday morning and it was very warm but quite wet. The front nine is extremely wet, and back nine is much drier in the fairways and the greens on the back are very dry and in very good shape.
The front nine greens were in good shape, just very wet.
I had a great time and shot a good score for the first round of the year but I would wait at least a week or 2 before going to play there again, it's just too wet. But the course is great shape considering how wet it is.

$45 with range balls till the 25th of April. Going to play tomorrow.

I played Pakenham today (Lakes and Island ) , very windy and cold , with the ocassional whiteout . Greens are in good condition but very slow and fairways were very wet.
Overall a good day for $30 bucks.

Played Casselview today , snow ,hail , rain , coarse was like a bog , most of my drives balls were lost due to plugging 3 feet down on landing , o and they had the cheek to charge me $101 for 2 , won't be doing that anytime soon again

Played Mountain Creek today, very wet but no rain today, only insane wind and some periods of snow or ice pallets. I think that this golf course needs two-three weeks to be playable

Ski season is over, wrapped up curling season Wednesday, and I can't golf! What am I supposed to do?

Due to weather conditions in the Ottawa area, the handicap season has been changed to go from June 15-August 15.

I played it yesterday and its not too bad, despite some snow and 30mph wind. It's wet, but no one got any plugged balls either. The greens though need to be cut though, they are about a 1 on the stimp. Felt like I was putting in the rough. 35$, pretty good.

Played The Canadian today and its a bit soggy at places, greens where normal for this time of year.

Thanks for the post Scottishgolf,I was going to head out tomorrow to Casselview since its a bit quiet at work.Now I will wait till Tuesday and perhaps play nation or see if metcalf is open.Casselview said they will give you 15 off your next round but you would need to play both games weekdays not a weekday then a weekend.If the course isn't up to par then 20 is a fair price.We are all pumped up to play first game but you still expect to pay a fair price for what you receive.

Man, feels like it's been a 10 month winter. Been to the range 3 times now, digging it. I just hope they open the grass areas up before I bend my irons out of shape. Looking to play Champlain on Tuesday.

Played CedarHill for the first time. A little wet, I had to add 2 clubs to every approach shot, the greens are moderate speed, small aeration holes on some greens. Got a bird, didn't lose any money, solid start to the season!

What time did you get there? we had 14 for skins at 9:30! Should have played with us!

The greens were shaggy, but they were not cut yet. The super explained that with the minus temps called over night on Friday and Saturday that cutting them prior to that would put them in shock too much and would hurt the long term growth of the roots. So he only rolled them. They will be cut this week and rolled, now that its getting warmer. The brown patches are wind dessication (dried out and dormant)

Can't wait for the warmth so things start to grow and we don't freeze our butts off playing! Saturday morning was damn right cold!!!

Yeah it was certainly cold we teed off at 8!!! I'll play in the Sat morning group sometime for sure however my playing partner probably wouldn't be up for it which makes it tough.

Can confirm that range is open at Equinelle now and the course opens on Friday. Haven't yet walked the course hope to do that tonight to see what the conditions are like. From the drive in and the fairway that I can see from my house the course certainly looks to be dry.
