Pick, Clean and Place
On the PGA Tour, when the golfers are playing under the pick, clean and place rule, can they place the ball on the putting green if it was originally on a closely mown area within the designated lenght from the green?
I know that in the appendix of the RCGA rules, it recommends that this not occur, however, I was wondering if the PGA Tour allows this.
A fellow golfer insists that the pros can do this. I insisted that they cannot.
Who wins the trip to play Pebble Beach?

You do !!
Pick, clean and place is played "through the green".
“Through the green’’ is the whole area of the course except:
a. The teeing ground and putting green of the hole being played; and
b. All hazards on the course.
