Golf Trip plans?
Just wondered if anyone is heading south this winter.. If so when? Where? and what courses you plan on playing? I myself am heading to Myrtle on the 10th to play Kings North, Rivers Egde, Carolina National, Tigers Eye, Oyster Bay and Myrtlewood Palmetto... Of course I have to survive my tonsilectomy (sp?) this commin tuesday first..

Not sure where I'm going this year, maybe Palm Desert, or it might be a scuba trip, I'll have to wait and see...
It could be that the purpose of your life is only to serve as a warning to others.

Going to Mexico (Mayan Riviera) in Feb. Not sure if I should bring any gear with me, it is supposed to be a "family" vacation but I am certainly entertaining the idea

Mayan Riviera
I'm going to the Mayan Riviera in May - if you golf be sure to post what courses you played and what they were like. We haven't made any reservations yet...

Four of us have been heading south for a week of golf in late March for about ten years. We used to go to Florence South Carolina, but three years ago we switched to Southern Pines NC ( near Pinehurst). Florence was a very good deal with some nice course (recommend The Country Club of South Carolina and Cheraw State park) Southern Pines is more expensive but we think the accomodations and the golf courses are worth it. We stay at a place called Talamore (which has a web site) and play courses like Legacy, Mid South, as well as Talamore. We played Tobacco Rd a couple of times - it was fun, but would not want a steady diet. We used to play 36 each day, but have now tempered to 18-36-18-36 etc. We play a course in Virginia called Shenandoah Vallery on the way home, which is highly recommended. We keep hoping to arrive home to open golf courses - it hasn't happened yet, but maybe the way this winter is going.....

I went to Panama and played for 3 weeks straight 18-45 holes a day. It was unbelievable; try and rent a villa that has a golf membership and than just assume their monthly rate of something ridiculous like 150$ and you can play all you want. This world has crazy deals if you explore it.
