Best value membership
I am 24 years old and new to the region. I am looking for a nice course to join for a reasonable amount. Where do you guys recommend? Thanks!

It really depends on what part of town you're in and how far you're willing to drive. Lots of clubs (private and public) offer great intermediate pricing though.

I'll echo what @spackler said. There are so many good intermediate options.
For example, at Rideauview where I'm a member, it would be $1225 at your age. Really tough to beat that. Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!

Pine View's intermediate membership is $1099 for 7 days a week and $949 for 5 days a week. In addition to our 36 holes, all memberships allow you to play at the Stittsville Golf Course (formerly Glen Mar) for just $10.
All memberships also include a free Corporate Golf Xtra membership as well, which gives you discounted access to over 50 local courses.
Combine that with our central location and no F&B minimums and it is hard to find better value. This is not the Pine View you remember from years gone by. Come back and see what we have done and what we have in store for the future - www.pineview.com

Any of these choices are good...
The cost for an Intermediate (age 24-29) Membership at Hylands Golf Club where I belong is $1,075.
And that cost includes a $100 food & beverage credit within that cost.
Send me a PM if you want to try Hylands out. It has 36 holes and great practices facilities, with a natural turf range, and there are two, yes two, 100 yard practice holes to pitch, chip, bunker play and putt practice on.

At your age you can get a "student" full membership at Metcalfe for less than $600, with no F&B requirement and a very good and challenging 27 holes of golf to play. There are also afternoon and 9-hole membership options that are even less $$. When you turn 25 next year the intermediate rates are only a little more, and the F&B is only $40 a month (and the food at the course is very good). If you want to keep the price under $1G and still want to play a nice course, Metcalfe is tough to beat.
