finding the right projector
Hi there, just wondering which projector to go with , my screen is about 118 inches wide and about 101 inches high, I am able to mount the projector anywhere so that's not a problem , looking not to cheap out , I hear allot of talk about the Benq 1085 st but it seems the lumins are a bit shy , is this still the one to go with ? Thanks , oh And also this is just a temporary set up for a few months , and thinking my next spot I will either be a spots that's 12 feet wide by 9 or ten feet tall or maybe even fourteen feet wide.

On paper the 1085 is lower on Lumens then others but everyone, including me, that has one, says its plenty bright. I'm very happy with mine.

A good practice is to purchase the projector and give it a trial run with screen, distance from screen, lighting, etc. Generally all projectors have a limited amount of trial hours. Please inquire about return policy before purchasing.

16:9 Distance from projector to screen is 7'5" for 118" wide screen. Gives you an image that is 66" tall.
4:3 Distance from projector to screen is 9'11" for 118" wide screen. Gives you an image that is 89" tall.
According to projector central calculator.
They don't list image offset though, so you will need to figure that out as well.

I think you might still be able to get PG golf for around $20 since it's still beta. They are supposedly very close though to releasing it which will then change to a different pricing structure. As of now, they haven't listed an outright purchase, just a yearly subscription plan.

PG is great. FSX is great. TGC is great. Right now, PG is 20 bucks. That's a few pints at the bar. If I were you, I'd use PG then decide what to buy when forced to.
