Irons too heavy
My irons have project x 5.5 flighted shafts. The stiffness feels right but I'm not getting enough swing speed with them. I think they are simply too heavy for me. What irons out there are lighter than project x? No graphite shaft suggestions please.

You should look into graphite shafts...

If you don't want graphite there are a few options.
KBS Tour 90, Project X 95, Dynamic Gold SL, and a couple of Nippon models.
Or you could just exercise a bit.Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!

True Temper GS series would work.

Most manufacturers will put in any shaft you want , but it will be an upgrade and probably cost a little more.
Lots of demo days around , a got fitted by Mizuno at GT last year and used the info From the fitting to go shopping around to find a better price .At the end of the day ... It gets dark

better hit the weights pablo.
Depends which irons you want - there is usually an option for at least a couple of these mentioned.I got a fever. And the only prescription is more golf equipment.

Doesn't the Hunt have any demo days?
Going to a lighter shaft won't necessarily increase your clibhead speed BTW. So, if you ate sonsiderjng a new set of irons I would make sure you demo them very carefully. Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!

Pablo i'm loving my 2013 xforged. We can meet up sometime at your local private club for 18 holes on you and you can give them a quick demo if you'd like?

I've heard Canadian has a pretty decent amount of gear you can try out.
Haime has some as well.

Your 5.5 flighted shafts are 120 grams, according to the Royal Precision website. These are at the heavier end of the spectrum, particularly for recreational golfers.
A lighter option would be NS Pro 950GH HTs. At 95 grams they're about 20% lighter, but would probably give a similar trajectory to the Project X flighted shafts. Nippon Steel is famous for their lightweight steel shafts. Nike VRS forged irons come with them and you could try them at Golf Town.
I used to have heavy Dynamic Gold shafts but changed to NS Pros this year and couldn't be happier.

Pablo just save your money and buy a gym membership, pumping iron will help with your swing speed.
Obviously you're not a golfer.

Hey Pablo. Are they too swing heavy, or just too heavy? You could experiment with counter-weighting the grip end. It worked for Jack Nicklaus...
When applying the Rules, you follow them line by line. You don't read between them.

Thanks for the info Muddler!
Rich, I'm not sure. Swing heavy maybe? I can get the club behind my head no problem but I can't whip it around and create any speed with the irons. I may try your suggestion, who knows maybe it will help. You only get out of something what you put into it

I don't think that creating "speed" with your irons will be fixed by going to a 20 gram lighter shaft, maybe a tiny improvement but i would think it's more mechanics and strength based. You certainly swing very very easy at the ball.

MY "lazy swing" is just an illusion that fools most people's eyes. You need an HD slow-mo cam to see how my power and technique blend into perfect harmony.

So explain to me again why you are swinging your irons so slowly?
Your Korean Lady swing works really well with the driver, especially a longer driver, because you get good contact on an optimal angle of attack. If you had Trackman data it would probably show a positive angle of attack.
This doesn't translate well to irons where you have to hit down on the ball. Iron distance is all about generating speed with the club head. That means body rotation. Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!
