I played 9 at Casselview and they told me they had cut the greens 4 times. I believe them. They were in great shape for this time of year. Of course, it was a bit wet.
I played Gatineau yesterday and the greens had not yet been cut and have some ice damage in a few places which is understandable given the winter we had. Otherwise the course was fine this early in the year and it was a beautiful day to be out!

Calabogie is really only wet in the low areas, everywhere is is pretty bone dry. Some greens if not all have been cut but a lot are very brown but very playable. For $25 its not too shabby at all.

Anyone been out to Gatineau yet?

Falcon Ridge
Played Falcon Ridge yesterday afternoon!!
Only 10 holes open. A bit wet in places, but it was fine and it was great to swing the clubs.

Played Falcon Ridge on April 22 and only 15 holes open. # 8 was wet and the rest was the usual winter kill one would expect. The greens were rough but all in all I was out playing golf.

I walked down the 7th and 8th holes at the Marshes yesterday. Those two holes were pretty dry. The 7th fairway was a bit furry and covered in aeration plugs. Both of the greens looked pretty bad when viewed from a distance with a lot of large brown patches, but on closer inspection they looked like they'd putt just fine.

Played Canadian Sunday and yesterday and it's in great shape. There was only one spongy spot I noticed and they had already started cutting the fairways and greens.

Was out at Gatineau on Saturday and course was in good shape except for the greens. Large aeration holes and uncut which essential made them a waste of time to putt on. So if you can avoid the course, I would do so for another 1-2 weeks.
Played Casselview Sunday and it's in great shape. Greens were excellent with aeration holes pretty much fully grown in/closed in. So rolling putts was smooth.

Walked Equinelle last night. The course looks great the greens even more so. They are covered all winter so when the tarps come off there are these deep green (compared to fairways) little islands. Can't wait to play on Saturday.

Thanks, that's what I thought. They love that over there, fairways like soup and spray painted greens charging 42 per player lol. Guess if people will show up and pay you can't blame em. Would rather drive 20 more minutes and play Smugglers for 50.

I am not positive of this but I do not think Casselview is spray painting there greens. I know this is a common practice down south but Casselview as tarps on the greens for winter and when removed in the spring the greens are usually already a dark green. I drive by that area often and basically one day tarps are there next day greens look like summer.

White Sands range will open on Wednesday April 24th according to their answering system. Equipment is already positioned.

It has been a terrible year for spring conditions. Winter kill everywhere. Unless it bent grass, it dead grass.
Prescott had great greens but they tarp greens with a breathable tarp, covered by straw and then another solid tarp. I believe Casselview does the same. Seems like its the way to go to keep the greens GREEN!

Played Nation today.1 temporary green on back 9.still a bit of snow in shaded areas and a few sand traps but course is quit dry and greens are pretty good for opening day.Think you pay full price or almost full price then they give you a chip for 50% off your next round.Payed 45 with taxes in today.

Took a chance at the MAD today.. It was soft and moist, but playable. Some greens were better than others.

PRESCOTT today was a treat.
Greens are as good as they're going to get & course almost needs watering!
Full course but we went from 11.05 to 3.30.
Something today I've never seen before.....Our 4-some all started/finished with their own ball & none of us even found another ball. & I'm a pretty good ball-hawker
Go of it gang!

Played Metcalfe 18 this evening. The new holes are in great shape, with dry fairways and decent greens. Holes 15 (sides), 16 (sides), 17 (tee to green) and 18 (tee to 200yds) are pretty wet. There are some wet spots here and there but nothing major; I only had 2 plugged lies (in the rough) but roll is limited. Winter kill makes its appearance here and there, mostly in the first 6-7 holes. The greens are fuzzy for the most part, some with bumps from the aeration holes but fairly decent especially for this early. The black tee box on 18th is a disaster and will require some serious work. Payed 25ish$ I believe with a 10$ coupon for later so great deal and I'd go back again.
Spent a great deal of time fixing ball marks, about 5-6 per green. Still made it in 2.5 hrs for 18nice_lag
