Wedge Bounce
Ok, so I am wondering what bounce most people have on Sand wedges and lob wedges?
I use Cleveland 588s.
50* with 8* bounce
54* with 8* bounce
I tried a 60* with 12* bounce and it was like the club kept sliding under the ball with huge divots and the ball went nowhere... that being said, I was playing in Florida and the fairways were not firm like most are here in the summer.
I also have the identical wedge, 60* but with 8* loft that still has the plastic on it.
Just wondering what most people use?
What do you use in greenside bunkers?
What do you use from 60-70 yards in fairways?
I love my 50 and 54's with 8* bounce.
Thanks!

I think about 6-8 on my gapwedge and 12 or so on my SW and about 8 on my LW. I mostly use my SW out of the bunker or rough so like more bounce. If the fairways or bunkers are hard then I will use my GW or LW with less bounce. From 60 yds I generally hit my GW unless I really need to get it over a hazard and stop it then its a SW or LW.
I got a fever. And the only prescription is more golf equipment.

It depends if you are a "picker" or a "digger".
Diggers usually are better off with a flatter lie and more bounce while the opposite is true for pickers. Ball position is also a major factor.
As always, there are exceptions to this rule so, GET FITTED !!

52-56-60 wedges have 8-8-4 bounce.
You only get out of something what you put into it

I use the Cleveland 588 60* LW, 8* bounce for most shots inside 75 yards, including greenside bunkers. It's generally my 'go to' club. Last year I got the Vokey 56* SW, 11* bounce and liked it so much that I now use it on longer chips where I want some run (ithe ball checks nicely and predictably) and on longer green side bunker shots.
You should take the plastic off your 60* LW and put it to use! It's a great club IMO.

The more bounce you have on your 60* the less workability you will have around the greens. Most pro's and high level golfers custom grind there own wedges. Myself, for example like to have as little bounce on my 60 as possible for around the greens which allows me to open up the face and basically have it lie flat on the ground, allowing me to hit a flop shot from basically any lie. With 5+ degrees of bounce on a 60 you eliminate a lot of shots you can hit from specific lies, just keep that in mind.
However, getting fit is the best possible option especially if you are looking to take your game to the next level.

What do most of you use from greenside bunkers? 56* or 60*?
I have always used my highest lofted wedge and I have a very good sand game...
I assume you all use your 56*... That must be why you prefer higher bounce on your 56* wedges... Correct?

Yeah, I use my 56 degree sand wedge for the sand. I also use it for pitches out of deep rough, which I hit like a sand shot, and for full shots from a good lie on the fairway. With so much bounce, I'm kind of leery off of thin lies.
I use the 60 degree lob wedge for chips where I want virtually no roll, short-stopping pitches, and full shots from the fairway including thin lies.
