I'll get out there this summer to meet new owners/operators and see what the hype is all about. The grounds need a lot of work, especially the few bunkers they have, fairways and irrigation systems.

I called the club this morning-----they now have an updated phone system----- they plan on opening for the 21st April Watch-- now everyone will be there
I wish them all the luck in the worldDoes the 2nd hole-n-one come easier ?

Just checked with the club and they are now targeting an April 26/27th opening. Sounds like they're taking their time to get it set as opposed to just 'going for it'. I think this probably bodes well for good things to come...

I would agree---rain forcast for the weekend---most of us have been out once or twice---another few days won't hurt.

You are right....lots of stuff done but loads still to get done.
It is an on going thing...new signage for course with accurate distances
based on nines being flipped #1 is now #10 and so on...sand traps being re-defined
and with more sand ....over seeding in various areas and a lot of fixing of machinery
etc. etc.
It is a slow start for us but this is what needs to happen - it will not be picture perfect
because there is so much to get done but our promise is to continously make the changes needed to make this course better with every single day.

Thank you for your support and looking forward to seeing you on our course

Hey The bear. This sounds great. Been playing Bearbrook 3-5 times a year for last 10 years due to its proximity to Orleans this is a great improvement it sounds like. Kudos to you.

I am also excited to see it improve! It will be one of the closest courses to my new house and with my brother in law working there it will definitely be on my regular courses to play. Maybe even a season pass next year!!!

That theory only holds true if they open restaurant and serve food and beverages all the time now. I've played many a round there without so much as a drink being available.

Hey Bear, any chance the course will be professionally mapped by Sky Caddie? The only thing available now is the course is "Member Mapped".

If the work going on will be like last fall----no problem. I did play a couple of times before the leaves hit the ground and it was definitly worth it.
AHA---I always hated that par 3 last hole Ditto for the food
As already said---------If conditions etc improve-------you are too close to town and it might be hard getting a t-time Can you only hope
All the best.Does the 2nd hole-n-one come easier ?

A former member mentioned to them that after the last hole played most if not all of the golfers headed for their cars rather than the club house. Swapping the nines means they have to at least walk by the club house to get to their cars. Maybe now with a kitchen they would be more apt to drop in and stay awhile...
Smart comment by that member and nice to see the ownership listening....

Now---if anyone has any pull with man up above---we might get out
Bear, are you part of the ownership or management ? I think you might be surprised how far good back and forth chatter will go --it used to be called "listening to your customers"---now it's called "customer service" and someone from a forign country replys
Nice to see your listening
I actually anxious to get out there------actually, just anxious to get outDoes the 2nd hole-n-one come easier ?

The Bear,
Are you able to share what the green fees are? I'm just curious as I don't see them on the site yet.

Hello again to all,
Yes you are right - web site like everything else is being re- buit from scratch. New tel. systems- computers - on line booking is in the works -Sebber we are looking at various options for the on line booking, I cannot confirm actual server as we are presently visiting severall options but yes it is part of the equasion. This course is back to basic 101 and we the management and owners of the course will not rush into making any decisions without visiting all our options. We are looking towards the future - the past is behind us and you like all future guests/members of Bearbrook golf will witness this course being brought back to life one step at the time. The changes are happening before your eyes If you wish to remain eyes closed than you will see only what you choose to see or hear. Keep this positive my friends because only good things are in the brewings for this course.
Open House is scheduled for Sunday May 06th from 12pm to 6pm keep checking the web site as it is being built as we speak and only good things and good changes are being added on a regular basis.
Hope to see you then

I am thrilled with the concept of this course coming up to scratch (...and perhaps more???) with others in the east end. I, for one, will be stopping by to 'have a look see' at the open house. Good stuff.....
