In all honesty, my goals are very simple:
Practice with a purpose and actual game plan.
Too often I would go hit balls/ work on the short-game, but my brain wasn't in it.
This year, I want to have specific plans each time I go out, whether its working on mechanics, feel, mentality, etc.
If I can consistently do this, specific goals (GIR, FIR, Putts,Tourney results, etc.) will take care of themselves. For me specific goals just place limits.
Having said that, its the old adage: It IS that simple, its NOT that easy

Last year was my first "full" season of golf, playing about 20 rounds. I'm a duffer (here I said it) but I feel like I'm that close to making the jump to the "recreational golfer" and shoot better scores.
Last year:
- Played about 20 rounds
- Golf Canada Handicap: 42.8
This year:
- Play at least 25 rounds
- Golf Canada Handicap: < 30
- Break 100
Alright, I'm ready now

Not really sure what my goals are going to be this season. We had our first child at the very end of August last summer and my game went to crap from there (my club championship scores were an early indicator as to what my game was going to be like).
I would like to be able to get out when I can and play well when I am there. If I have one goal this summer it's to dedicate more time on my short game (when I have time to practice).

My only goal is to beat mpare straight up, and take money off him.

I want to consistently play in the 80's (lower would be nice, but 4 times I got into the 80's last year)
Spend some time with a CPGA to work on my short game
Play at least 25 games this season now that I am in a position at work to have the time to golf more often
Build that basement putting green that I have the blueprints for

After taking some videos of my swing and having nightmares about it, I'm pretty sure I will fail all of my goals. All I can think about is how bad it is

Goal 1
This year the focus on the practice range will be to develop my wedge play.... particularly inside of 75 yards.
Goal 2
I would like to get to a max of 30 putts per round but I only see that happening if my wedges can come alive so I am not consistently leaving myself 20 foot putts!!!!

My goals are similar to last year... and pretty much all dependant on whether or not I get over the bout of tendonitis I've recently come down with... or if I can just play with the discomfort with no ill effects on my game:
- End the season with my index under 2.0.
- Take 2 or 3 lessons to check up on the progress of swing changes I've been working on indoors over the winter.
- Practice (with purpose!) sessions at the Marshes at least 3 times a week. Every shot must have a purpose.
- Continue working on 'deficiencies' in my conditioning as identified during a TPI physical assessment.
- If the Citizen tournament still exists (in its current format), improve on my previous best showing of T21.
- Enter a couple of tournaments aside from the Citizen, or several others if the Citizen is gone (OVGA, GolfTown, etc.)
- "Chase the Dream" at Equinelle and move on. (http://www.thegreatwaterwayclassic.ca/?page_id=211)
- Shoot 4 rounds under par. (1 round under par in 2010, 2 in 2011, 4 in 2012 should be automatic... right? )

"Chase the Dream" looks interesting. I wonder what the entry fee will be. I'll try to keep updated on that tournament.

Considering the end to my year last year (handicap went from 5.5 to 7.3 in last month of the season), my goal is to practice more and try to peak at the right times by having a plan in place. More objective goals:
- Hit 75% of all fairways
- Hit 50% of all greens
- Make 50% of all up and downs
I have lots of goals for performance, but if I can achieve the above the results will take care of themselves.

I forgot to mention also this year, I want to sell and buy less clubs. Every year I tell my lovely wife that this is the year I keep one set of irons only. She has that in writing somewhere in the house.

This year I plan to start the year by taking a string of lessons at Kevin Haimes with my wife. Maybe this will prevent my HC from going up at the start of the year like it has the past two seasons.
My goal would be to have my HC drop from 20.0 to less than 15. My last two rounds last year were in the low 80's (84&87, but didn't count due it being November); so I should be capable.
I also want to play more this year than last year (48 posted plus perhaps 10 give up rounds)to take full advantage of my Greensmere membership. I will have to put a rush on finishing my year and a half house renovations."Only one man in a thousand is a leader of men...

My 2012 goals:
Get my handicap back into the single digits after watching it go to a 10 last summer.
Shoot 5 rounds in the 70s (only 3 in 2011)
Make 2 birdies per round (had 1.8-ish in 2011)
Finish the year at par or better on par 5's
Reliably hit a draw and fade instead of a hook and slice.
Finish in the finals of both the Team and Singles OG matchplay.

Thank you sir. Somedays I don't know either. Then I go out and play and reality sinks in.
