P3ProSwing Champions Studio Version vs. DIY on $5k Budget

I have the opportunity to either purchase a used P3ProSwing Champions Studio for $5k or build my own from scratch using Optishot or other DIY sim components.

Is this a no-brainer? I'm assuming I won't be able to build a better system than the P3 Champions Studio for <$5k?

I'm looking for something cool for my office that could help me improve my golf game (I'm a >20 handicap). The P3ProSwing retails for around $12k.

    Thx!

please read the thread concerning the p3pro. I would not recommend buying this. There are several other options for you like Protee, GSA, Trugolf in that price range or a little more that would help you a lot more than p3pro.

Thanks Bubs! Are you referring this thread?
P3ProSwing - Ball flight not right, Putting is AWFUL, Online play not working

If so, is there a consensus on what to get with around $5k (+/-)? I'm looking for a full setup... 10x10x10 cage, mat, screen, etc.

    - I'm guessing I can build/buy a cage separately for around $500.
    - I can buy and mount a projector from eBay for <$1000
    - I can buy a computer/laptop to run the software <$750
    - I can buy the mat/analyzer... but which one is the best for <$2000?
    - Am I missing anything else here?

    Thanks!
