What a crazy game!!!!
So I went to the meadows today to play a round with my buddy Scott,
Its only my second year, so my personal goal is to break 100...
That being said, I play whenever I can, and practice at the range to try and get some consistency and confidence in my game...
Today I shot a personal best of 42 on the front nine, I was really happy with that!
So the back nine comes, start to shoot double bogeys on most of the holes, and im on the 17th hole with a score of 83...although my back nine was bad, i thought that i had this one in the bag...all i needed to do was shoot 2 eights or better on the last 2 holes and i was breaking 100...sure enough, i shot an 8 on the 17th hole, leaving me with a score of 91...heading to the 18th tee I though i was home free, then i hit a tree and i shot my ball out of bounds...When I took my drop I punched it 15 yards on the fairrway. I proceeded to hit an 8 iron on to the green, and it went to the right of the green, were i proceeded to hit a thin chip shot which flew right across the green, and then i hit another chip shot way short, then another one 6 feet from the pin, missed the putt by inches, and took a 9.......I understand golf is a funny game, but I will never forget this game, and I think I might cry myself to sleep tonight....

Golf is an eternal game..just when you think you had it figured out...bam, it comes back and bites you hard.
But the 42 front nine will give you some positives to think about and continue working on the game.
Good luck !

You did it to yourself. Play the game and don't add up your score, lots of mental anguish in golf.

been there, done that.
last year I had a goal of getting under 100 at Montebello.
Shot 44 on front. Started thinking "forget 100, I'm gonna break 90 here".
Shot a 57 on the back. And 101 it was.

i thought i could find my ball in the rough, i wasnt sure where it ended up, after looking for a while, i realized it was most likely OB...so i just took a penalty stroke and dropped it on the rough....heading back to the t box after walking halfway down the fairway is a great way to slow the group behind you down!

This game is going to drive me insane. From tee to green, I was playing great yesterday at Smiths Falls. However, my putting was an enigma. I shot 81 and putted 39 times! My problem is on the very short putts inside 4 feet. I 2putted all day from this distance. What drives me nuts is that my long putting was very good! fml

Talk about crazy, all year my rounds have been 78-82, no higher and no lower (except for one terrible round at the Marshes). I go out not this past weekend but the one previous, make 5 birdies and shoot an even par round of 71. No sure where that came from, but putting was amazing that day. Made a bunch of long bird putts and even a few bombs for par.

OK, never had a hole in one. On vacation on PEI, Eagles Glen, #17. 163yards lasered. 8 iron, right at it. Yell the obligatory "get in". Hear it hit flag. Think it IS in! Comes backwards into the water. Mark on flag 6 inches above hole. From euphoria to disbelief in less than a second. Crazy game indeed (sometimes too crazy LOL).

If I see either of you clowns with belly putters I'm going to give you an enema with them.
Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!

Golf is all about the image, and I rather putt 40 times than use a belly putter!

I play with a 31 inch long putter.
Belly putters are for chumps.Obviously you're not a golfer.

I like a short putter.
Otherwise I get back pain and the whole setup feels off.Obviously you're not a golfer.

I don't understand why there are so many people on here that are against belly putters...Personally I don't use one, but If I dont play in the PGA, or for serious money/implications...ie fedex cup points or national pride...why would I care If my golf buddy wants to use a belly putter?

The people that think it is lame and are against belly putters are just late adopters, usually old people set in their ways that don't like change whatsoever. Pablo, you're like almost 50 right? Point proven!

How are you going to teach your kids to putt Denis when the stick is twice as long as them, huh?

I'll give them the 31 inch putter I have and tell them to use that as a belly putter, what a silly question!
