Question for Sun Scramble
Will be playing in this event this year but my game lately is in real bad shape. My question is when I address my ball and I am about to start my swing can my playing partner stand behind me and tell me my aim is off and witch way to change it. Really helped me on the weekend but we do not know if this is legal. Actually this is kind of sad considering I have been playing for 25 years and these days I need somebody to help me with alignment.

- Scrambles are not sanctioned under the Rules of Golf, so pretty much anything goes.
- If you are observing the rules in your particular situation, it is permissible for anyone to help with your alignment, provided they don't stand on or close to the line of play while you're making your stroke. On the green, only your partner or either of your caddies may help with your alignment. See Rule 8-2a
When applying the Rules, you follow them line by line. You don't read between them.

You need to read both 8-2a and 8-2b.
http://www.usga.org/Rule-Books/Rules-of-Golf/Rule-08/
Incidentally, if the guy you are playing with is on the same side as you he is your 'partner'.
The term 'playing partner' is not recognised in the Rules of golf but is generally take to mean 'fellow competitor'. ie someone in the same group playing in the same competition but not on your side.

Sun Scramble
So having read the rule I guess it is ok for my partner to stand behind me and help with alignment. Actually the way I understand it even when playing on weekends he can help me out even if we are just playing in a regular foursome.

Also read rule 14-2b.
But you may be confusing 'alignment' with indicating a 'line for play'.
The former could be construed as showing you how to take your stance ie advice.

Only a few days away for Promedia B groupings !!! Tee Times will be posted 48hrs prior to the event. Hopefully the fairways at le sorcier are better than last time I was there. On a good note Outaouais greens are nice and fast !!!

It's amixed tee box. No2 will have you hitting from the blues. I tee off at 10:20. Based on previous years, I think -2 will make the cut. I hope they get strict with th hdcps. Noticed some are below 8.0

I noticed this too. There are a couple of guys that are partners who each are no more than an 8 or 9. They will be very tough for the field to beat..
My name is Paul. And I'm a golfaholic.

It would be nice to control the handicaps, but somehow I don't think this will happen. Ah good that it is a mix, but I never realized it is the whites we are mainly playing. -2 should be acheivable but this should be fun !!

I'm more than likely going to be up stupid early... in the range of 5am. They have no range there, so I might use my soccer field next to my house !! lol...

Just notice that 5 teams in EC qualifier (Promedia B )scored lower than the open division qualifiers. Wierd ! They must have been playing the white tees I guess.

Probably were ineligible with Nicolas at 4.3. But There are others that are still below the hdcp factor and are still there.
