If you ware worried about playing a Stiff 6.0, these shafts can be soft-stepped twice and play at around a 5.7.

These shafts are at least 1'' shorter than anything remotely standard thus not even close to a 6.0 slope. By soft stepping them twice, you will bring the lenght up an 1''/ club and re establish somewhat the 6.0 but at the same time, you will eliminate the 9 and pw shaft. Your best case scenerio would be 5 to pw (6 shafts ).

Yes, I agree they are short. I didn't do anything to them. They were in my KZG Evolution irons when I bought them.
They are short and stiff and hence I don't play them.
Thanks for the input, I am just trying to get them sold.Obviously you're not a golfer.

3 iron = 37.25 no grip OK
4 iron = 36.5 with grip 36.75
5 iron = 35.75 with grip 36.25
6 iron = 35.5 with grip 35.75
7 iron = 35 with grip 35.25
8 iron = 34.75 with grip OK
9 iron = 34.25 with grip OK
pw = 33.75 no grip OK
Hi Jonathan. Something does not jive here. The measured lengths do not follow the 1/2 inch incremen(see red and bold)
Lengthwise they are not that bad if they are to be installed in a clubheads that have 1.5 BBGM. For example the 3 iron would come out at 38.75 finished length with a 1.5 bbgm. I would remeasure them again if it were me.
If the whole set was in sync lengthwise they would be actually just .25 off modern standard.

The 5I shaft measures 35.625" without a grip. Install it in a head with the 1.5 BBGM = 37.125". Add the lenght of 0.125" for the butt cap on a Crossline grip, finished lenth of 37.25". That would be 0.25'' shorter than a 5I standard in 1980. Most modern OEM 5I's are 37.75'' and up.
If you where to install these in 1.5" BBGM heads, you would still have the same out of wack incramentation between clubs. There are only two areas where there is .5'' in between, 6 and 7, 8 and 9.
This is why I recommended a 6 shaft set to sell soft stepped, that way you could adjust the increments to either 3/8'' or 1/2'' without having to add 1/2'' plugs in the hosels or use grips with 1/4'' long butt caps, or flatten the lies to squeese out another 0.125'', or add butt extentions or ......

Hi Les. The original measurement for the 5 iron was listed at 35.75 with grip( Post number 9)
So I wrote that it should have been 36.25(Post numer 14) So 36.25 + 1.50= 37.75 which is only .25 off modern standard and standard for Ping clubs
http://www.ping.com/clubs/ironsdetail.aspx?id=6968
Of course my theory does not hold up if the bores are deeper.
The lenghts are out of whack on the 4-5 -6-7 therfore I wrote the progressive correct lengths next to the word grip in my original post. Basically they would need to be extended .5 of an inch to be OK. The wedge would come in at 35.25 a bit on the short side but still OK. Of course if you want the same lengths as Ping clubs then the PW shaft could be extended
3 iron = 37.25 no grip OK= will play at 38.75
4 iron = 36.5 with grip 36.75 will play at 38.25 if extended 1/2 inch
5 iron = 35.75 with grip 36.25 will play 37.75 if extended 1/2 inch
6 iron = 35.5 with grip 35.75 will play at 37.25 if extended 1/2 inch
7 iron = 35 with grip 35.25 will play at 36.75 if extended 1/2 inch
8 iron = 34.75 with grip OK will play at 36.25 no extensions needed
9 iron = 34.25 with grip OK will play at 35.75 no extensions needed
pw = 33.75 no grip OK will play at 35.25
Your suggestion is different than mine but I believe both hold up depending on what one wants to do.Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.
