I get it, you don't want to see "conservative" football, or playing scared. In this case, I would trust the decision of the Super Bowl winning coach over an armchair quarterback, no offense. Sean Payton isn't a conservative coach anyway, so it says even more about the decision being a no-brainer.
It's like Drew Brees said in the postgame - "it's not like we were on the 25 yard line and it was a true test of a FG. If that was the case, we would have run more plays to get it closer. But we were on the 10 yard line, and we expect to make that FG every time. If we DO run more plays from the 10, someone could get hurt, we might cough up the ball, and then we'd be getting ripped for not kicking the FG. So hindsight is 20/20."

I love the Bears, and I couldn't be happier about their start to the season, but I'll be happy if they are a wildcard playoff team. They have just caught too many breaks and calls on a fairly weak 3 game schedule for them to be considered a contender at this point. Please prove me wrong Bears!

3-0 team is a 3 point underdog.

I just looked at the Bears' schedule and there are some tissue soft teams remaining on their schedule. They could get 10 wins if they beat who they're supposed to beat.

I agree with you that hindsight is 20-20, but I was complaining to a friend of mine about this play when it was called. In any event, none of us get to make the calls. We can certainly opine about them from the cheap seats. On a more general note, though, you read me correctly. I am not a fan of overly conservative football. That said, I prefer a balanced offence over one that is uni-dimensional. On the other hand, I would prefer to see a team fail gloriously than to win playing scared. But that's just me.

Giants will bounce back from that ugly game they played last week. Bears will get first "L" tonight.

So the Bears lose their #1, and #2 QB's to "injuries"...... hmmm... I don't blame these guys for faking being hurt. Who wants to risk their career playing behind that offensive line?

This week-end could have been an absolute carnage in survivor pools... Green Bay, New Orleans and Atlanta were all lucky to end up winning. Tennessee and Indy did lost...
PS: I had NO in all of my survivors....If you think it's hard to meet new people, try picking up the wrong golf ball.

Both teams score in the 40's, and I think Fins win by 3 pts. Both defenses are pop warner.

Anytime Ron Jawarski hypes up a player, that player has a horrible game. Thanks for jinxing Chad Henne.

It would appear that the Patriots solved their inability to score in the second half!

Special teams are somewhat 'fluke's scores. When I do my stats for handicapping and all I disregard them. Miami played terribly. New England's defense didn't change overnight.

Bears with Hester, Chiefs back with Dante Hall, Cleveland with Cribbs, only special special players make me adjust my lines. Brandon Tate on the verge.

Well I guess the special teams for the Dolphins were awful because they fired their special team coach today...

Rumor is that Randy Moss will be traded to his original team... the Minnesota Vikings...

I was going to say on Monday night that Moss was not worth NE resigning. Looks like NE agrees with me.
