Odyssey Backstryke Putter
Just wondering if anyone has tried one of these? Tried one at golftown and was impressed. I'm not a great putter and the alignment aid helped alot since the shaft was behind the ball. It rolled great and and never left any 3ft short as usual. Practice little 5 footers and didn't miss that many.

I tried them at GT. Felt good but not sure if i would pick one up.
I think Padraig used one of these earlier in the year but seems to have gone back to his 2-ball blade.Last edited by bobblehead; 08-20-2010 at 07:46 AM.

For me, the alignment aid added more confidence. I have a straight back and forward swing. With the shaft being in the ccentre behind the alignment I was able to focus more on the swing path...if that makes sense.

i had a look on the Odyssey website...the shaft is behind the ball. I guess its been a while since i tried one. Which model are you looking at?
Came across this thread on it: Same consensus as yours...easy to align and hard to leave short putts short.

The Marxman. Read the golfwrx forum and now makes me want to buy one. As I said, putted around 45mins yesterday at gt and was happy with it. Grabbed my putter off the rack and the consitency of speed and distance was all over.

Try another session at GT...if same results then get it and sell your blade putter.

Bought one at the start of the season and love it. I am right eye dominant and I think it helps me lining the putts. (If that does make sense, and if it does not it still help me anyway )

How long did it take to adjust to it?

Did not take long. I have a putting green at home, so I could spend some times on it.... Feel very confident with it now.

Forgot to add that three feeter do not scare me any more. At one of my club tournament, I had 5 putts after 4 holes, one of my playing partners joked about my next putt, a 7 footer, "that's a gimmie" ...
