Backyard Swing Set for the Kids

The wife and I are going back and forth trying to figure out what to put in the backyard for the girls. So many options. Plain old fashioned swing and slide? One of those wooden ones from Costco or Toys R Us?

Anyone have any opinions based on your own experience?

The costco ones are pretty nice as are some of the toys r us ones. I looked around and ended up building my own (which I know isn't an option for you Donny). We were limited in space and some of them felt really rickety. In the end it didn't save me any $ but mine is built like a tank.
I got a fever. And the only prescription is more golf equipment.

I always debated about buying one... my kids are now too old for it... yet, I regret not getting one when they need it. If you have the space and $ go for it.

We have a wal mart metal one (3 swings, a slide and a teeter-totter) in the back yard, and a small plastic play structure beside that. Its surprising how much they are still used (my son is 7, my daughter is 4) plus the neighbor's kids use them too.

However, they are not visually appealing, and if I were to do it over again, I'd grab that wooden one thats on sale at Costco right now.

They are nice (although a little messy) when combined with a sandbox underneath them, sand is safer for falls than dirt or grass.

If you have never been to a store on Carling called "Play Value", I highly reccomend you check it out before making any purchases for the back yard.
