Yeah, I knew you that's what you meant, I just felt like going on a tangent with the hockey.
You know what's funny? Canadians will always * and complain when Olympic athletes don't get the correct number of medals (whatever that predetermined and arbitrary number happens to be)...and whenever someone in the federal government comes out with a plan to dramatically increase funding to amateur/Olympic sports, the *ing and complaining moves to that side of the debate. Very confusing.

No it's not as good as the professional product, but the players are playing for the pride of their country. Everyone in the stands has a base connection to the players, there are no free agents, there are no contract issues, no trade demands, just the single goal of winning for the reward of winning. The event is about as pure as it gets nowadays.
Not that college football is pure, but I'd compare it to that. A college game is roughly 100x more fun to attend than an NFL game for many of the same reasons.

The two forwards shouldn't have gone so deep before the d-man took the shot. The forward on the left side should've held up a bit.
If you watch the reply from the head on view, you'll see one Canadian forward skate around and behind the Amercian net. At the very least he should've gone to the net, not around it.
We can speculate all we want, but it's over and done with. An exciting finish to the tournament."A life lived in fear of the new and the untried is not a life lived to its fullest." M.Pare 10/09/08

I don't know if you were watching at home... TSN mention (probably McKenzie) that coach Desjardins told them that he doesn't want to see any drop pass at the blue line... just thought it was weird that 3 minutes later it happens...
Like you said it is over and it was fun to watch... the end of the 3rd period was awesome. If you think it's hard to meet new people, try picking up the wrong golf ball.

The Americans were the better team all tournament. It was going to take a miracle for the Canucks to compete with their speed 4 on 4. Eberle should be on the olympic team.

Canada won 5 straight gold medals with 'Go Canada Go', 0-for-1 with 'Eh Oh Canada Go.' I blame Pepsi

I really enjoy Mike Lange (Pittsburgh Penguins), one of the best...
He had these gems:
– he beats him like a rented mule
– Oh scratch my back with a hacksawIf you think it's hard to meet new people, try picking up the wrong golf ball.

The one thing that was missing from the 2009 version of the Canadian Juniors was a stand-out goaltender...I don't ever recall a National team being so poor in goal.
