Reza,
Let us know how it goes........I'm very curious as to whether we have to re-download and install all of our apps etc.
Thanks!!

Installation is now complete.
Phone is alive.
All apps are still there. Addition of one icon to home screen 1 (voice memo) means reorganizing your icons a bit.
The spotlight search function is done by flicking to the left of home screen 1.Proud member of the 2009 Ryder Cup winning team

Hubby has it done. He says everything seems faster, and he is now working wirelessly between his iPhone and laptop using Bluetooth.

I'd expect nothing less than a seamless upgrade from Apple!

Well hubby was first in line for the new phone, what a geek lol. The upgrade was either 199/299 depending on memory

For what Roger's wants to up-grade to the 3G S I'll stick with my 3G for the time being.
Unless you spend, on average, over $100/month for your cell phone (including data) the BEST deal that they will give you on an up-grade to the 3G S is $250 off the the hardware only price

This is what he got
Customers who bought an iPhone 3G between July 11th and September 30th, 2008, and who spend a minimum of $100 per month will be rewarded $500 off the cost of the iPhone 3G S. Those customers who purchased the device between July 11th and December 31st, 2008, but do not spend more than $100 monthly will be eligible for $250 off the price of a new iPhone. These two offers expire July 31st, 2009 and must be purchased with an additional one-year term to the customer's existing service agreement.

[QUOTE=Hacker;314250]I hear ya there - I have everything that Rogers offers, my monthly bill is North of $320........
You hubby must be pretty pumped about being able to teether his iPhone to his laptop so that he can have internet access anywhere.....[/QUOTE
Yes he is. He had already updated his old one, so he spent his time sitting tethered in his car waiting for the store to open this morning.

I keep looking at if its worth to upgrade, i'm pretty sure i can get the 32gb for 299 and could probably sell my 8gb for close to 300 if not more on ebay, but wonder if its worth it and if this might screw me for the new version that will probably be released next year.

Its $99 if you are willing to sign a contract and there are alot of people who will not do that, check ebay still going for $300-$400.

Wow, colour me corrected. The eBay prices are all over the place from $150 to north of $400 for unlocked, jailbroken phones. I'm really not sure when someone would pay $400+ for a used phone based on old technology but to each their own I guess.
I still think that I'll hold off for a few months, or at least until I can figure out if we are going to see another version in 2010
