Of all the ill-advised decisions, this ranks up there with the "ill-advisiest"...

she does not even have a card on the LPGA, it is ridiculous the PGA allows this. frankly every time it happens i think less and less of the PGA.
can't win on the LPGA, can not make a cut in the PGA, why is she even allowed to play anything?

Actually Four Words Bob
NIKE INFLUENCE
TICKET SALES
The Reno-Tahoe Open is not exactly a high ranked event as far as spectators go.
So you can bet that is the main reason she was invited. They are hoping the Thursday/Friday ticket sales will rise. I doubt she'll do much for weekend ticket sales

We've been down the sponsor exemption road regarding Michelle Wie many times. Bottom line is that lesser events such as those that play opposite the majors and World Golf Championships need a reason for people to watch, and if it draws even a few more eyeballs, it's worth it to them. (RED Development, LLC in this case).

I wonder if the fact that Wie has not and apparently will not try to get her card on the LPGA tour could be that she is afraid of failing at the Q school.

Looks like the Women have a two week break after their British Open, so there is open space on the calendar that she is taking advantage of.

she can only play one more womens even this year, because she can not win , place or show or anything in any event, so she is begging for sponsors exemptions etc on the mens tour.
really, she should quit, go to school and try to play later on.
tired of hearing about michelle wie, there are stories out there about golfers who win, or try, or at least are not idiots and don;t get DQ'd from events every year.

Wie playing in Tahoe PGA event...
For the first time in my life I looked up the tournament director and wrote him a letter. Yes, blah blah blah it's up against the WGC event and they want to get some excitement without the top players. But c'mon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She's been horrible for the past two years (one sign of life last weekend an exemption should not make!).
