Problems with ATI Radeon 9800 graphics
I need some techincal help. Foolishly, earlier today I updated the drivers for my Radeon 9800 video card. Now my computer is moving in slow motion. This is especially noticeable when watching movies. It's akin to viewing old time movies when one could almost see each frame stutter through. Is there something that I can do to uninstall this new driver (Catalyst Version 8.2), or at the very least adjust the settings that the Catalyst Control Centre (Smartgart) automatically fixed (poorly, obviously) to optimal processor settings?

if you are using xp or vista you can run the system restore to the day before you installed the drivers.

It's not my day. I tried two different restore points, only to be told that the restoration had failed. I have experienced similar problems in the past when trying to restore the system to an earlier time. It never seems to work. Any other suggestions?

Double check that it hasn't changed the AGP speed setting. This has been known to happen sometimes.
Also, see if fastwrites have been disabled and if so try re-enabling them. Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!

It's been a while since I had an ATI card but somewhere in the control panel, probably under advanced or SmartGART there should be information about both AGP speed and fast-writes.
Rolling back the drivers means uninstalling the current ones and re-installing an older version. Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!

The problem has been completely resolved. I called Dell and using DellConnect, the technician, who is situated in Indian, took over my computer and patiently corrected the problem that I had created. I know that some of you may not be Dell fans, but they have always been there for me.
