Father's Day gifts
Ok I'm stumped. I've been asked to provide a list for father's day and I can't think of anything I need. Looking for gifts in the $20 range as my kids do not have any money.
Do you have any suggestions? Some people are like Slinkies... they're really good for nothing, ... but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs...

As you know Chris, fathers day is all about spending time with your kids or your dad.No need for fancy gifts, usually lunch at some restaurant or your golf course will bring joy to you and your familly.I miss my dad so much and i am blessed to have children of my own and are planning a BBQ sunday with them and the rest of our familly.Bonus is that my daughter was born on fathers day in 1977.Now thats a fathers day gift for life.Happy fathers day to all and get together to enjoy each others company

my kids ( 3 and 5) are taking me on a canal boat tour for fathers day. lived here for about 6 years and never done this so should be fun.
other than that if you are actually looking for soemthign they can buy, what about little things, like a club cleaner? personaiised golf balls? anythign like that.
personally i like what Marcos said, it is more about th time spent together than anythign else

This is my second fathers day.. What I want is to play golf in the morning then spend the rest of the day with family.. Having a bbq at my parents house with the whole family.. As the years go on its getting harder and harder for everyone to get together so when we do its great.

I agree 100%. I was asked for the list as the kids love to go out and get something for me. It's usually something I'll never use but this year they want to know what I want. I think I'll ask them to write down the most memorable time that we spent together over the past year. That would mean more to me than anything material.
Thanks

I'd say something golf related, but that option is well covered.
How about copies of your favourite movies on DVD?
If you are a chocolate junkie, send them to Stubbe in the market and have them get you a chocolate box with truffles. The box is actually made of chocolate.
The LCBO is also a good place to buy Dad stuff.
Our Father's Day tradition is as follows:
1. I get an extra Sunday round of golf
2. Come home and turn on the US Open without having to battle the kids for the TV.
3. Steak dinner in front of the TV.

I can't help you out, but I do know what I would like.
1. The courts to enforce my ex-wife to pay me some of the $8,000.00 she owes me.
2. My youngest daugther to spend the night at a friends.
3. 1 of 2 girlfriends to spend the night Saturday and then leave in the morning before 6:00 am.
4. 7:30 am tee time
5. The afternoon with my granddaugther.
6. The other girl friend to come over after dinner Sunday and leave before midnight.
I know I'm asking for a bit much, but it is father's day. Good luck in your quest.

You could suggest they get you a small tree (or two) to plant and watch grow with them over the years. They’re lovely, environmentally friendly gifts to give or receive. You can’t really get trees at the garden center in your children’s price range, however I was told you can at the Ferguson Forest Centre in Kemptville.
Or if you really don’t want a gift, and with the warm weekend ahead, ask them to buy enough water pistols for the whole family to play with. Could be a blast!

Hey Chris---I like the idea of the tee--my dad and I planted one about 40 years ago in the west end--it's still there---he's not--- but its a great reminder.
Never mind the gift idea--you take only the kids out for breakfast and let them order. The time together is priceless.Does the 2nd hole-n-one come easier ?

How about something simple like a private jet down to the U.S. Open, with tickets to the open included (seats on the 18th green), admission to the club house, supper with the players, private lessons with Butch Harmon ......
Oh yes, and a night with Tiger's wife
Well we can always dream - LOL
