Like the old saying goes. Play a round of golf with someone before doing business with them..............

    Paypal, Money Order or Cash.

If you , me or any business could tell before hand who the "bad debt" would be... Life would be easier but you can't. From experience it's always some slimy guy who you least expect it from. Having been shot a few times you become gun shy so if I give you something of real value you give me something of REAL VALUE. Not a piece of paper that is a type of promise to pay, a headache and a $25NSF fee 1 week later.

Cheques?! What year is this, 1980! The only cheques I write these days are ones with VOID on it for an electronic payment schedule. To many more secure, faster ways to get money theses days, NO Cheques for this kid!

I've used it with TD Canada Trust as well with great results.

I have to say, though, that when buying stuff from people I "meet" online in a forum like this, I always bring cash. I guess I expect it to be expected!!

PayPal, EMT, or cash. I have no problems with sending stuff out before I receive the money also as long as it's for well known or reputible members on this forum. In fact I did that a few times this summer.

The big issue with cheques is that they take forever to clear, so if someone sends you a cheque, then you're just in limbo waiting for the money to go through.

Haven't been burnt by anyone (knock on wood) and I trust my instincts.
Of course I would........right after I talked to my banker about what i've been paying over-draft protection fees all these years

I use money orders typically. It's cheap at $3-$5. On a $100-$200 or more, this charge is insignificant IMO. All my transactions are many miles away....cash is the closest option to me.
