Apollo Shadow vs. TT Dynamic
I need to buy 4 wood shafts, and 8 iron shafts. I can get 12 Apollo Shadow shafts delivered to my door for $63.00. The TT Dynamic will be $124.00. My budget is really tight. Are the Dynamics worth the extra $61.00? Thanks!

Buying the shaft that is most appropriate for your needs versus the one that is most cost effective is a better approach....but assuming that they are both suitable..
Apollo has fine shafts.....what you will likely find is more variability in the weights but just sort them by hevier in the short and lighter in the long irons
I prefer the Apollo stepless steel and they are about the same price as the shadow and they come in combination flex wood and iron shafts

Thanks for the advice!
Couple of quick questions:
Why do you prefer the Stepless Steel?
Why put the lightest shafts in the long irons?
Thanks a million!

I prefer stepless for the look and the feel....plus they are a more mid kick shaft that seem to suit a greater range of players that might be on a budget
as for the sorting.....this could occupy several pages and well in all honesty, if you have only a small number of shafts you are going to get variability in wt and flex.........ideally you draw from a large lot of shafts and throw out the real outlyers and the ones with huge spines ( these are bent)
It used to be assumed the heavier was stiffer but that does not always hold true
There are a couple ways to go after this and if you assume that you have the proper 7 gram wt progression between successive heads or adjust the head weights to get that then putting the lightest shaft in the longest head will be in keeping with the progression of the set,,,,as you are cutting less shaft off while in the short iron when you trim it you are taking more away
another way some do it is to sort the heads and the shafts such that they match up...ie: if you have a 2 gram too heavy shaft and a 2 gram too light head match em...etc....
all this is when building without a frequency meter
with a freq meter generally sort shafts for weight then frequency , deflection , spine and flo

You should be more concerned with the difference in playability of the shafts rather than the price. Shadows have an extreemly soft tip section as opposed to the Dynamic wich is much, much firmer.
