Garage Doors
Hi All,
My garage door just broke and I was wondering if anyone knew ehere the best deal on a new aluminum door, installed would be? This is the first time I have to buy one of these, are they expensive to get installed? And do I need an insulated door or not? ThanksLots of yoga pants these days, not enough Yoga!

Depends what you use the garage for!!
As for a good place to buy, I can't comment, as I have not had that 'pleasure'. However, I will definitely get an insulated door if I have to replace ours. This is because I store our car in the garage, which is a radical idea in this day. Therefore, it would be good to keep the temperature a little more moderate in hot or cold weather. On the other hand, for other storage, it may not make much difference.
Cheers,
Tim

An old roommate of mine backed into the garage door at my old house. The landlord got an estimate of approx $400 to replace one panel on the cheap, uninsulated aluminum door. Hope this helps.

We bought ours at HomeDepot and had them install. I can't remember the exact cost but I couldn't have installed it myself that how little the installation cost was, plus they take the old door away.

Myneighbour told me Home Depot has some for around 700, aluminum but not insualted so I'll have to go see. If they install, and take the old one away for a small fee that will be a bonus!!! I'll keep you posted as I want it done before the snow flies ( again ) .

I replaced on at my old house 2 years ago. It was a single, aluminum without insulation. $950 installed and old one taken away. The Door Doctor. Had to use the Door Doctor because i was in a condo and they had the rights to our condo corp (thus the reason I moved out!) Home Depot is reasonable and install is inexpensive.

Hi guys,
Just check for mine today. They told me $1000 installed for an insulated door but no windows.
I think Home Depot or Costco have some. My door is around $650 + installation $250 + taxes ..... just over $1000.
Just to give you an idea.
Good luck,
Chambo

Surprisingly enough Home Depot had a good selection and decent prices. Their fees include delivery, installation, removal of old door and disposal, installation of existing garage door opener and new parts and weather stripping. The non insulated and insulated was only 40$ difference so I'm going for the insulated. Cheers, and thanks for the advice all.
