    Played Today (JAN.22/06)

Well I can now say I have played golf in every month of the year in Southern Ontario. Played 9 holes today at a course in London. Nothing special but it was golf! Lots of rust in the swing, but had some good shots and made a few pars, not bad considering how wet and sloppy it was, and the greens were not like Augusta Nationals greens !
There is a monster par 5 on that course, 640 yards, followed by a 510 yard par 5 then two par pars at 450 and 430. $10 for 9 holes and it sure beat sitting on the couch all day

Deer Field and Camisle have been open most days for a couple weeks now. Both in Burlington

I'm flying to Hamilton this Friday and if all goes to plan will have 6 hours to kill in the morning. I can smell the Deerfields!

Is it hard to get to from downtown Burlington? Would you recommend Deerfields or the other?

The course is called Golfland, it is located on Crumlin Road in east London, right beside the airport.

Not much of a course but there is a monster 640 yd par 5, and two par 4's at 450 and 430 (just about all you want at the end of January while playing on sloppy fairways with no roll! )
$10 for 9 holes. That course is usually open 12 months of the year unless there is a lot of snow on the ground. Driving range there too.
Hey it isn't Augusta National, we had to play lift clean and place and of course the greens were about a 3 on the stimpmeter but at least we played!

I'd play Deerfield, if it's open tomorrow. I'm sure its soaked, but last week they had something like 40 people on the tee waiting to peg it!

Trust me Dhacka it isn't worth the drive!
Now you might check to see if Pine Valley in Vittoria is still open. A friend told me he drove by that course on Friday the 13th on his way back from Port Dover and it was open.
Here is some info on it, however it is a very short course.

That is soooooo cruel!! I'm happy for you, but go ahead and transfer some of that nice weather up to the near north--at least let me get on the links in April!

Gotta love this Global Warming Concept. Living in the Banana Belt is sweet But please do not be depressed, we normally do not play golf down here in January. This is just a freak of nature. It's usually the first week of April before we get on the local courses.

FYI Golfland is open 12 months of the year and you can always enjoy a hot dog or sandwich with the large german shepherd in the restaurant.

I think the dogs name is King.
