I'm just thankful Ottawa didn't get Roberts as was the speculation heading into free agency. Last thing we need at this stage of the game is a PIM guy and second line center who are both likely finished at the point when they next get injured...

Foote to Columbus, Aucoin to Chicago, and apparently Hatcher, Rathje and Therien to Philly!!!

Modano is apparently going to end up in either Boston or Phoenix, but wants a 4 year deal....

All I can say is I would not want to go into a corner when playing the Flyers. They have some BIG blueliners. Too bad "Booby" Clarke is still stuck in the days of the Broadstreet Bullies. If these rule changes do to the game what they are intended to do, Philly is going to have to rely heavily on their goalie. Defence is big but relatively slow. Clarke likes big rugged players, but if the game opens up to speed they'll be hurting.

I agree with Geoff on this one, those guys are some pretty big blueliners but not overly mobile. If the game does open up as intended, agile defencemen are going to be at a premium.
The Sens look great in this area, even if Volchenkov decides to play elsewhere.
