MOI Matching -- Question of How & A Bit of Why

Having gone to a Single Axis swing and with it moved to more of a "hitter," I'm thinking of MOI matching my irons and maybe my woods. I'm interested in what everyone thinks is the best method to do this (BCMIST, I'll appreciate all your knowledge and resources!) with the limited workshop I have.

I don't really want to talk about other matching methods, but this should get us started on an interesting discussion about MOI and MOI matching.

I decided to provide links to Dave T.'s two articles so you can see the charts:

    http://www.tutelman.com/golfclubs/sw...lubmakeronline

    http://www.tutelman.com/golfclubs/Wh...lubmakeronline

So, to MOI match a person would need to have a 7g head weight gap between irons and .4" gap in clublength, or 8g head weight gap between irons and the standard .5" gap in clublength? To me it seems to be more complicated than that.

Also, is MOI matching only good if you keep the ball in the same position for each club? How many people do that? Is it good to MOI match if you move the ball position for each club? If so, what is the best method of MOI matching--half a swingweight point decrease as you go up the set?

Can anyone put this all together for me? Thanks.

    Good reading...
Some people are like Slinkies... they're really good for nothing, ... but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs...
