Grand slam golf mag article
I am sure there was some discussion on the grand slam when tiger (claimed) to own it a few years ago.
I was just reading Aug GOlf Magazine interview with Annika in which she agree's with Tiger that it was a grand slam when he combined 2 golf seasons worth of major's.
I don't get it?
Can a baseball player combine his last hits in one game with hits the following day, and claim he hit for the 'cycle'?"Chicks dig me, because I rarely wear underwear and when I do it's usually something unusual"

As far as I am concerned Woods did not hold The Grand Slam as he did not win all 4 Majors in the same calender year. End of discussion!
That's like an NHL player scoring 35 goals after Jan 1 until the end of the season, then scoring 35 more from the start of the new season in the fall until the end of Dec. He did not score 70 goals in one season did he?
Woods wishes he had held The Grand Slam, but he did not.My opinions are my own, I do not follow others.

Same calender year or not, he won four majors in a row. One hell of an accomplishment with the depth of talent on the tour and in my eyes he won a variation of the Grand Slam, like the previous poster said "The Tiger Slam".

Isn't Bobby Jones the only one to have done that?

Like it or not, he had all four trophies on his mantle at the same time....How is that any different than winning them in the same calendar year??????
Just my opinion. I agree it's not a true grand slam, but pretty damn close.
As for hockey, you can't compare it....The closest you could get is maybe consecutive playoff shutouts that span multiple years??? I'd say the shutout would be harder to do but,.......
IMO anyways.

Your arguing the point their trying to make. Everyone agrees it's a hell of an accomplishment.. The difference of not being in the same calendar year is that it's not the Grand Slam lol

Grand Slam or not, Tiger has accomplished something no other player ever did in golf history and I was there to see it.
MikeStrive for perfection, but never expect it!

There should be a reclassification to all these achievements.
It is odd to compare something from a different era.
I mean if some amature player to win US Amateur, US Open, British Amatuer and The Open Championship in one year today, would he be considered having won the "grand slam"? What if Hale Irvin was to have won the US Open and then all the senior majors then what are we going to call that?
