    Question Best practice facilities?

Which area courses (public or private) offer the best practice facilities?

I haven’t seen the changes at Rideau View since their renovation, but Royal and Hunt are 1-2 by a wide margin. The variability between range, grass and mats, chipping area, putting greens and short game area is really good and put these courses at the top.

I think the order is Royal, Hunt, then RV when the short game area opens next year.

on the public side The Canadian has a very good range and short game area. The grass areas are always very well maintained

I would agree with this. Royal and Hunt are in a totally different class than the field and I’d also agree that the upgrades at Royal have them ahead of Hunt. Hunt did an upgrade this year but until they build their training centre they are behind Royal in terms of range (and of course their clubhouse is exceptional). Course routing just isn’t as good and the conditions are great but not exceptional which keeps them behind Hunt in course category.
