Smile Any Suggestions of a Good Golf Course

Will be in the Ottawa area around the beginning of August anyone have any suggestions as to a golf course to try out. Have been living in BC for the past 7 years but only took up golf in 2000 so I'm not to familiar with courses in the area. Any ideas would be great, also keep in mind my budget is around $20-45.
    Any ideas would be appreciated.

I'll give you a few (but not all) that are within 20-45 mins and that are in that price range. South of Ottawa there is the Meadows (36 holes), Emerald Links and Metcalfe; East of Ottawa, there is Cassleview, Hammond, Pineview and the Nation; North of Ottawa (Quebec), there is the Chateau Cartier, Champlain and the Kingsway; West of Ottawa there is Greensmere, The Canadian, Packenham Highlands, Arnprior Golf club (at Sand Point). Most of the courses are featured on this site.

FYI, these are courses I have golfed on and are not listed in order of preference or any other order for that matter.

If you could be more specific on what type of course you would like to play on, i.e. degree of difficulty, distance from the Ottawa and the direction, I'm sure you will get a few more responses.

Thanks Chris, I'll be a little more specific. 18 or 9 holes, degree of difficulty doesn't matter, anywhere West of Ottawa up the Ottawa Valley a little past Pembroke area.
    Thanks

West of Ottawa, I would say your best bet is probably Renfrew

In addition to Renfrew, I would also suggest The Oaks of Cobden (in Cobden), Dragonfly (in Renfrew) and also Deep River (in Deep River but 9 only holes). I think these are all in the $30-35 price range and have a mix of easy and hard holes. There is a course in Pembroke (Pemroke shores?) I think.

I would also recommend Calabogie, if you are willing to go a little farther than Renfrew and closer to Ottawa. Excellent and challenging course.

    Thumbs up

I agree with LongBallHitter that the Renfrew course is the best bet for the money. I've heard the Oaks of Cobden is nice although I have never played. That one is between Renfrew and Pembroke. However Pembroke is only 35-45 mins from the Frew (my hometown)
